High school romance

River of Lights part 2

*Catherine's pov*

We had half an hour before we had to be at the botanical gardens. I wanted to wear something extra special. Being with my boyfriend under a bunch of glowing lights was as romantic as it could get for me. I chose to wear black pinstripe pants, shiny silver toms and a silver shirt. When Zayn saw me he exclaimed "oh my gosh Catherine you look beautiful."

"thanks Zayn."

"your welcome."

"I am excited."

"I am as well."

"hopefully everybody shows up."

"yep."

*Zayn's pov*

After making sure that we had everything we were going to bring to the botanical gardens, I shut the door behind Catherine and I. She climbed into the passenger side of my Bentley as I went to the drivers side. I put my feet on the correct pedals and started the car. I backed up off my driveway and sped off towards downtown.

*Miriam's pov*

I had just got ready to go to the river of lights. I had just finished getting dressed in a cute outfit for the occasion. I was wearing a white tank top with slver sequins towards the top and a black cover up. I also was wearing a shiny black skirt with my silver converse. My outfit was sporty yet girly. I felt like it was the perfect combination of an outfit for the botanical gardens.

I had been to the botanical gardens before, but never had I been there at nightime. Louis did not know where we were going so as we both got into his car, I slipped out my phone from my purse and went to the gps. I typed in Albuquerque Botanical Gardens. Instantly my phone displayed the address. I clicked on it and it started telling us where to go.

*Louis' pov*

The GPS directed me where to drive. It told us that we would get there in twenty minutes. "Good thing it won't take us long to get there."

"Just be careful Louis."

"Don't worry love I will."

*Rachael's pov*

We were there before anyone else. That was Niall and I's plan anyway we wanted to get dinner. Niall pulled into a parking space and turned off his engine. I stepped out carefully wearing light pink jeans and a light pink shirt. The shoes that I had chosen to wear were my pink converse. I wanted to look chic and sporty at the same time. I held Niall's hand as he told me "You look amazing in that outfit."

"Thanks."

"Especially the pink converse. You're in high tops just like me."

"Yeah."

"I wonder what it's going to be like."

"Me as well."

"Guess we'll just have to see."

"Yep."

*Niall's pov*

Rachael and I stepped up to the gates and paid our admission fee. Once past the gates we rushed to the first open place to order food. Both of us ordered a hamburger and curly fries. The lady behind the counter told us that our food was going to be ready in 15-20 minutes. Rachael and I stood off to the side as we waited for our food.

*Kirsten's pov*

Liam and I were just arriving at the botanical gardens. Liam speedily parked and helped me out. He smirked when he saw me dressed in dark jeans and a purple and black polka dot shirt. "You look so pretty."

I blushed. "thank you."

"no need to thank me love."

We stepped up to the gate and shared the admission payment. When we got past the gates my eyes immediately caught sight of Rachael and Niall standing and waiting for their food.

*Liam's pov*

Kirsten and I were just entering the gates when we both saw Niall and Rachael waiting for food. "Niall!"

Niall and Rachael looked over and waved us over. We stepped up to them. "hey guys."

"hey. What's up."

"nothing you ready to see the lights."

"yeah." Kirsten and I said in unison. "us too."

Rachael and Niall got their food. "let's sit down." they told us.

"ok." we followed them and sit down next to them on the round table.

*Maya's pov*

Harry quickly parked and we stepped out towards the gate. Harry and I paid our admission. When we had gotten inside we saw lights illuminating everywhere around us. At a nearby table I saw Niall, Rachael,Kirsten and Liam sitting at the table. "Hey."

"hey guys."

We strolled over to the table and sat down while we waited for everyone else.

Catherine's pov*

Zayn and I had just arrived at the botanical gardens. I was shocked to see that almost everyone was already there. The only car that was missing was Louis' Porsche. Which meant that the only people we had to wait for was Miriam and Louis. Zayn handed the lady behind the ticket booth $65. As soon as  Zayn handed her the money she pulledn a lever which made the gates open. We cruised past the gates. Our eyes caught glimpses of bright lights shining down on the cement and everyone who was there. When I happened to look just below one of the lights  I saw Niall, Rachael, Kirsten, Liam, Harry and Maya sitting at the teal table. I turned to Zayn and mutttered "There's everyone."

"Ok." Zayn and I promenaded over to the table and let everyone know that we were there. Then we sat down next to everyone.

*Zayn's pov*

Right when Catherine and i sat down, Maya turned to us and spoke out. "How are you guys."

"Good. How are you and Harry?"

"That's good. Harry and I are amazing."

"That's awesome."

'Yeah. By the way thanks Catherine."

"For what."

"Inviting us here."

"Your welcome."

"This is so romantic."

"I know right." A few minutes later past then Catherine and I had to follow everyone actually insise the botanic gardens. We had to head to the river. I guess Louis and Miriam would have to find us on their own.

*Miriam's pov*

Jukst as they had let us into the courtyard I could see everyone going through the gates thatl led to the botanical garden. "Come on Louis we have to hurry. They're about to start."

"Ok." We stopped holding hands and ran through the gate. I was desperate to catch up to everyone else. The hot air whipped around me and made me sweat. I was breathless when I tapped on Catherine's shoulder. I tried to catch my breath as soon as I stutterd out "Louis and I are here."

"Ok just follow us."

"Alright."

*Louis' pov*

I trailed behind everyone. Eventually we reached a place beside a river. I sat down next to Miriam as the show began. It would last an hour and a half.

**two hours later.**

It was two hours before the show was over. "What did you think Lou."

"It was cool."

"Glad you liked it." She kissed me.

"Um Miriam I think we should head home it's already 10:00."

"Ok." She turned away from me and shouted bye to everyone. I did the same thing as we exited the gates. I was so tired.
