Is she going to die?

*Niall's pov*

When the doctor strolled into where Rachael and I were he had a content expression on his face. As though nothing was wrong.. Yet. My guess was that he hadn't really looked at the results yet. He sat down next to Rachael and I and said "the news I am about to tell you might be hard to bear."

"O-ok."

"Now lets see. Looks like you have some major brain damage here." He muttered pointing to a diagram of the brain.

"Brain damage?"

"Yes. I'm sorry."

"W-w-will she die?"

*Rachael's pov*

Niall's voice rang in my head "will she die?"

He really was worried about me. The doctor looked taken aback and he didn't reply for a while. "It doesn't look like she will but I can't make any promises."

"Oh ok."

"I'm sorry."

"It's ok."

"We will do surgery as soon as we can. We want to make sure that she has 99% chance of surviving this."

"Alright that's fine."

"She will need to remain in the hospital for at least another week."

"Ok.."

"You can take Rachael back to her room if you would like."

"Alright."
