All I remember was Alice's scream, loud enough to shatter glass. Then I heard the screech of tyres. Then the breath was knocked out of me and I could no longer see.

Time went by, while I stayed in total darkness wondering where am I, if i'm alive. I heard what sounded like a group of people crying. They were my family. Was I the reason they were crying? Why couldn't I see them? I tried my hardest to force my eyes open but it was impossible. I was trapped in my own mind.

"Please Asleigh, please, just wake up" I heard Alice's soft, hoarse voice. It broke my heart to hear my best friend say that, especially when it was my fault. Why couldn't I just stop being so selfish and wake up so my family can see I'm ok? One simple thing was all I wanted to do, but I couldn't.

Much more time passed by and I had a reoccurring vision, I could see some people, one of them my grandfather who passed away due to a heart attack, and another my father, who died fighting for our country, I'm so proud of him. My dad held out his hand for me to take and I started walking nearer, closer and closer, when I was just about to grab it I heard my mum.

"Ashleigh, the doctors say there is a chance you can hear me, I just want you to know I love you so much and I will never leave you."

I felt a surge of power rush through me which forced me to open my eyes and awake to the bright room in a hospital ward.
