As I took in my new surroundings, I saw my mum curled up in an armchair looking hollow. Upon seeing me her eyes blinked continously as if she didn't believe her eyes and her mouth dropped open.
"OMG! Nurse! Doctor! Anyone! She's awake, my baby is awake!!"
A excited looking nurse rushed into the room holding a clipboard.
"How are you feeling ashleigh?"
I responded with a simple 'ok' because I wasn't sure how I was feeling, I had so many unanswered questions I needed to get out of my system.
"Do you remember what happened to you, do you know why you are here?" she asked making notes on her clipboard.
"uh no, not really" I replied watching my mum eyeing me with a nervous expression.
"well, you were walking to school when you got hit by a car, the impact was quite bad and since then you have been in a coma" my smile wavered and I remembered the day it happened.
"How long have I... you know, been in a coma?" I asked not sure I wanted to know the answer.
"6 months".
"what? 6 months?!?!?"
"Yeh, I'll leave you two alone now so you can talk, let me know if anything is wrong!" and with that, she exited the room. My mum looked at me still with that nervous expression.
"So...what has happened in the last 6 months?"
