What have I missed?

Chapter 6: I can't believe it

Ashleigh's point of view-

"- she's pregnant" I can't believe it. My sister. My 17 year old sister, pregnant! I don't know how to respond to this news, should I be happy, sad, excited, mad?  

"what?" 

"I know, it shocked me too, but aren't you excited, you're going to be an auntie!!" This made me feel a small bit happier.  

"What else have I missed?"  

"Ok, so whilst Alex has been preparing for her pregnancy with her boyfriend, Amy has gone to boarding school-" 

"WHAT?"  

"It's for her swimming, she's very talented and was asked to go to this school, well she wouldn't refuse her life ambition would she?"  

Why has so much been happening...why did I have to be in a coma?  

"And so a month went by and Alice became a lot closer with Sophie, and something else happened to her, she got a boyfriend!"  

"huh? who?" I questioned nervously.  

 "uh, I think his name is Louis. Louis Horan"  

My heart broke in two. I can't believe it. My best friend and my crush. Alice knew I liked him, I cannot comprehend this news. Alice probably thought I would never wake up so she could date the boy I have fancied for ages.  

"Anyway, so they have been dating for around two months. And I have very exciting news of my own!!"  

I held my breath, just wanting to wake up from this nightmare.  

"I'm getting married!"  

what. no. A 4th husband. Another divorce. What is wrong with her!  

"I understand you're surprised but I have my reasons, with you in a coma I realised that life is too short and I want to spend my time how I want, so I made the decision to marry a man I have been dating for 5 months, who I met in the hospital, isn't this great!!"

That is what she said the last three times, it wasn't great then and it isn't great now. The only man I'd be happy for my mum to marry is my dad, who was the only man she didn't marry. I don't feel like discussing this any further. 

"Mum, I'd like to be alone for a while, to process these thoughts" 

"Sure but doctors say you can come home now so I'll take you home and you can be alone there, Alex has moved in with Josh, her boyfriend, and Mark, your soon to be stepdad is taking me out tonight!"
