I was beginning to feel scared, when I heard the muffled shouts of someone coming from the science department supply cupboard. I made my way over there, the smoke becoming increasingly thick. I came to the door but couldn't get it open. The handle was searingly painful. I screamed for Sam and he came running. He grabbed the fire extinguisher he was using and banged it hard against the door, forcing it to open.

I saw Louis, he lay still on the smokefilled cupboard floor. Sam picked him up and threw him over his shoulder. I began praying that he was ok and still alive. If he was dead, I couldn't bare to live either.

We made our way though the corridor and realised the fire had spread to the only exit. We made a quick decision to find a window. I saw one in one of the classrooms, grabbed a chair and smashed it open. I climbed through, and Sam lowered Louis through and just about managed to get through himself before a massive explosion impacted on us and we were forced to the floor in a dreamless sleep.

~Later on~

The smell of hospitals woke me up. I felt the same as I had when waking up from my coma, not knowing what had happened or why I was here. I carefully opened my eyes and instantly saw my mother. This is all too familiar. Had I just awoke from another coma?

"Mum, what happened?" I asked my mum wanting to know the reason I was here as soon as possible.

"Do you really not remember?" She said with a hoarse voice, dried tears lined under her eyes.

"No"

"There was a fire at the school, Louis was in the building. You went in to rescue him. Apparently you all got out, but not quick enough to avoid a big explosion that occured in the science block caused by the fire. There are a lot of ingredients in the classrooms, that if mixed with the fire, could have been the cause of the explosion."

Memories came flooding back to me. Where was Sam? Where was Louis?

"Are the others ok?"

"I don't know, I haven't seen them." I stood up ready to go looking for them but my mum stopped me.

"You sustained a few injuries, you're not ready to be walking around yet."

"But I need to see them!"

"Wait till the doctor comes back" She said so strictly that I knew I couldn't argue back

Not too long after, the doctor came in. He told me to be careful because I cracked my head open, and I might experience dizziness from time to time. Also, I had quite a few bruises so to take it easy. But other than that, I could go home. After signing some papers I was discharged and went to look for Sam.

"Hi, i'd like to see Sam Johnson" I told the woman at the reception desk and after telling me where to go, I was at his room.

When  I walked in, and saw him lying there on the bed, I was reminded of feelings. the emotions I felt when I had a crush on him when we were kids. Wait, did that mean I had a crush on him now? No, I love Louis...I think. I left the room so I wouldn't have to answer the questions forming in my head. When I saw Louis, the same feelings were felt. What was going on, did I love them both?

Louis was awake and staring out the window. I coughed to get his attention.

"Oh, hey ashleigh!" Lou said whilst sitting up straight.

"I'd just like to thank you, the doctor told me what happened. I can't believe you risked your own life to come in and get me. I'm so sorry"

"It's ok Louis, you'd do the same for me!" I smiled at him, and he returned the smile.

"I really love you Ash" I felt butterflies in my stomach.

"I really love you too Lou" But did I also love Sam?
