What have I missed?

Chapter 17:Party with the populars continued

In a short amount of time, the large house became crowded, filled with most people from our school and some from other schools. Everyone was drinking all sorts of alcohol and I started to feel less and less comfortabe as the night progressed. With drunken teens dancing crazily all around me I went outside to get some air. On my way out I noticed  the popular girls and their boyfriends. Eva was with Brooklyn, Katherine with the most popular boy in school Alex, Lucy with James and I remember seeing Joanna go upstairs with some guy I didn't recognise. 

"What are you doing here?" Katherine asked me as I walked past.

"Me and Joanna invited her!" Lucy defended me. 

"I'll be right back girls, I need a drink" Eva said whilst stumbling into the kitchen, obviously drunk.

"Why would you invite her?" Katherine said with a look of disgust. 

"It's not your party so you are not in charge of who can come, so just leave Ashleigh alone!" Lucy said, I realised I really liked this girl now. I ignored Katherine's evil glares and went outside.

I was thinking about how young I was compared to most people here, then I realised something. I had my birthday while I was in the coma! I can't believe I missed my own birthday, and didn't even realise! That means i'm 16 now, wow. I aged without even knowing. And worst of all, my family hadn't remembered to tell me or get me anything, not even a card. 

Someone started walking outside towards me but it was too dark to recognise anyone from this distance. I was starting to get worried. 

"Hey ash!" Louis cheerfuly said to me, although he seemed slightly drunk. Let's hope he doesn't mention anything about what Alice said. 

"So about Alice-" Oh brilliant. 

"I want you to know, I broke up with her" WHAT?! 

"Why?" 

"I realised that I never really liked her that much, and after she was horrible to you, it made me understand she was not the sort of person I wanted to be dating." 

"And who is the sort of person you want to be dating?" I asked casually trying to hide my happiness about my crush being single.
