Chapter 15: An Uchiha is Born [Naruto]

Rin

Things had calmed down some. I got an earful for running so far from the village but also got praised by some for my skill. Sasuke and Itachi were off spending big brother and little brother time together. Though Itachi said to meet with them by the compound pond near sunset. So I wasn't that left out.

"Rin you’re not focusing" I looked up at Setsuna and noticed his sharingan eyes watching me.

"Setsuna we've been doing this for hours, I'm standing in the middle of the lake already. My chakra control is exact" He sighed.

"We've moved onto fire jutsu Rin, it's great to know you've been paying attention to my lessons" I stuck my tongue out at him and he sighed again.

"Rin…"

"I'm bored of training, besides I'm five, I'm not even a genin. I don't have the chakra for fire jutsu. We should have started with that smart one" He ran a hand through his hair as he sat on the dock and I walked over to him.

"C'mon do you ever loosen up? All my cousins and aunts and uncles are too uptight." He chuckled slightly and looked at me.

"You'll understand when you’re older Rin. We have to maintain our power and not waste time" I frowned slightly.

"Yeah but you'll miss out on life if you focus too much on the Uchiha power. Do you have any idea how long it's been since Itachi has even seen his girlfriend? Weeks. You guys need to learn to live more."

"What makes you so wise?" I smiled and I pushed back a strand of hair.

"Because about a year ago I was kidnapped and nearly killed by the Akatsuki and since then there have been many attempts on my life and who knows how many kidnapping attempts to. So I may not have a lot of time left. Someday Itachi or my dad or someone from the clan won't be there on time to save me and we'll I want to make sure that I live as much of life as I can in the time I have" I watched as a smile came to Setsuna face and he leaned down picking me up from the lake.

"You are wise beyond your years Princess, maybe you are the light in the Uchiha darkness" I giggled softly and smiled.

"First off it’s Rin and second off what does that mean?" He smiled and kissed my cheek.

"You'll find out once you’re older" I sighed but smiled.

"I figured you would say that, so about that break I was mentioning?" He chuckled then and nodded.

"Okay, let's go see what others are up to. Maybe Aunt Yuri made some Mochi" I laughed as he put me on his shoulders and we began walking. I liked these easy days.

Rin

I sat on the railing of one of the outer halls eating a Mochi ball. Setsuna sat to my left with Jiro and Kai. They just talked, it seemed the only time anyone was relaxed or simply happy was when they were around me. We'll at least that's what Setsuna told me.

"So how long do you think till you graduate Rin? You’re doing better than Itachi" I smiled and shrugged.

"I dunno. I don't want to leave Sasuke behind and Father gives him enough of a hard time as it is" Jiro nodded.

"He's laid off on you some" I nodded and Kai sighed.

"That's only because she actually developed the Sharingan before Sasuke and younger than Itachi. You can't ignore that plus the fact that she's the only female in the history of the Uchiha to actually inherit it" I smiled slightly and noticed Setsuna staring at me. He chuckled and smiled slightly.

"I think we’re all curious and eager to watch you grow up Rin. Powerful and beautiful." Jiro chuckled.

"True, very true. There will be a lot of suitors for Fugaku to deal with."

"Alright I'm only five but I'm not letting my father arrange my marriage" Kai laughed then and nodded.

"That's what we expect and it'll be one hell of an argument that he'll give in to. He always does." I grinned then and nodded.

"Or course he does, I'm just too darn adorable!" Setsuna chuckled.

"So is there anyone who interests you?"

"You guys really want to talk boys?" Setsuna shrugged.

"You're the most rebellious out of anyone born into the clan. We figured you would choose someone out of the clan." I shrugged and thought for a moment.

"Shikamaru Nara" Jiro chuckled.

"Thought so, people tend to marry their best friends" I nodded slightly. I loved Shikamaru, of course I did, he was my best friend it would make sense since were growing up together. Then I thought of someone. Someone else.

"Kakashi Hatake" I whispered softly. Kakashi was older than me and he was just different.

"He's older than Itachi Rin" I shrugged.

"I don't mean right his minute. There's only a nine year difference that's about the same between mom and dad." Jiro shrugged.

"We'll you still have a lot of time Princess besides anyone you date better be able to handle meeting the family" I sighed slightly but grinned.

"Um yeah then I'll never have a boyfriend or husband. You'll all scare him off" Kai chuckled.

"Yeah but the one that we can't scare off will probably be the one you’re destined to be with. So think of as were helping you sort through the trash and find the treasure" I giggled softly as I looked up at the sky and noticed something.

"A shoot I'm late to meet with Sasuke and Itachi!" I jumped off the railing and gave then each a quick hug and kiss on the cheek.

"Thanks guys but I'll see you later!"

"See you Rin!" They shouted back as I ran off.
