Chapter 15-You Can Do Bad All By Yourself

"We, Abby, Vicky, myself and...Maya. we used to always come here and just hang out, it was our secret place, well it's not so secret, but what I meant is, no one ever knew that we'd always come up here to hang out. Sometimes we'd find ourselves talking, laughing and more talking. And some other times, we found ourselves just enjoying the comfort of the night, the stars and each other's company"

I was just talking and he was listening, it felt good to talk about that especially after everything that happened over the course of the years. Things aren't the same anymore and as much as I don't want to admit it, but it'll never be the same again. Life succeeded in tearing us apart, it started with Maya getting killed and then me fighting this permanent disease. Who knows who will be next.

Fear has slowly creeped upon the fearsome foursome, tearing them to shreds and now there was no telling if someone will manage to live to tell our tale.

"But then we stopped coming here..." I trailed off looking at the beautiful scene of the sun that was now slowly setting down.

"Why?"

It was probably the first thing he said since I started talking, remembering the past and the memories that this place held.

"Because the fearsome foursome was slowly breaking apart" I answered simply.

"And why's that? I mean I did hear of the fearsome foursome before and seen some of your paintings on the alley's walls...but I never knew why you guys just suddenly disappeared" he said frowning slightly.

"Because like I told you, we were breaking apart. Maya she..." I couldn't bring myself to say it, reality was just so painful.

"She's the fourth member of the fearsome foursome that died, right? " he said slowly as if afraid I'll burst into tears in any given second.

"She was killed" I said turning around to lock eyes with his.

"And I was there...and I didn't save her"

"It's not your-"

"Not my fault?! I just stood there hiding afraid...she was killed with no mercy whatsoever and I didn't do anything to save her "

By now tears started welling up in the brim of my eyes. I couldn't help the flashbacks from flooding my mind, reminding me that I didn't do anything to save my best friend. You wanna know what was the sad part? Was that I was so scared, while if she was in my place, I know she wouldn't have hesitated to sacrifice her life for me. That day, she took the bullet for all three of us and I won't even try to lie and say that I don't think every single day of revenge. Of finding those fuckers that killed her.

"There was nothing you could've done, Hollywood. I don't think Maya would've wanted you to get killed too" he said sternly.

"I should've saved her" I mumbled shaking my head while looking ahead of me at the beautiful landscape.

I watched as the sun set down, slowly disappearing and remembering how Maya loved watching the sun set so much. But now it's not as beautiful as before, the redness of the sun was almost like the blood of her innocent soul, it was almost like the sun was sad and was never as beautiful as it was before, knowing that a beautiful soul was killed without even a second thought. I felt as if the sun was looking at me in disappointment, asking me why I didn't try to save my best friend.

Was it all out of fear? Or was I just not as brave as her-
