Chapter 12-The Heart Never Goes Wrong With Love
He's been ignoring me. I don't get him, he's so confusing and he's just easily playing with my mind. One second he tells me that he likes me, that I'm his angel, and the next he's just straight out ignoring me. Is that a game of his? To make me crave him? Because hell it's working, I crave his touch, his kiss, hell I even miss how his voice would send shivers down my spine. How only the sight of him would make butterflies erupt in my stomach.
I'll admit, I was in denial at first and couldn't put my finger on the feeling he was making me feel. But now that he's not here, realisation hit me and it hit me hard. I need him. Today was just about as normal as any other day, I was walking as fast as my legs could take me because I was already late as it is for my next class. And of course I had to be my clumsy self and bump into someone's chest.
I closed my eyes waiting for the impact, but luckily for me whoever that person I just bumped into, wrapped their arm around me preventing me from the nasty fall. I reopened my eyes slowly only to be met with those ocean blue. It's been a while since I last saw or even heard from him for that matter. I stood back up taking a small step back seeing that we were standing chest to chest.
"It seems to always be fate's way of making us cross paths" he said smiling warmly at me.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss him.
"Alex? Where have you been, it's been a while since I last saw you. Why did you disappear like that? I was worried about you" I mumbled the last part looking down.
"Sorry, sweetheart, it's just...it was a crazy week" he said biting his bottom lip looking away.
"What's wrong?" I asked resting my hand on his cheek.
And just like that, tears welled up in the brim of his eyes, his lips quivering under my touch. My heart shattered, I've never seen him so fragile before and whatever he's going through right now, I need to make sure that he knows I'll always be there for him. I grabbed his hand and pulled him along with me down the hallway. My class was long forgotten about, all I cared about at the moment was that Alex needed me.
For about fifteen minutes, I had my arms wrapped tightly around him as his arms were also wrapped tightly around my waist, holding onto me for dear life. His head hidden in my chest as his sobs were the only thing filling his car. We were sitting in the backseat of his car, I couldn't help the tears that welled up in the brim of my eyes. Whenever I see someone so fragile and crying, especially those who I care about so much, I can't help but cry along with them.
"S-she's sick, we took her to the doctor, I didn't know that s-she-" he was cut off by his own sobs, I kept doing my best to comfort him.
"She was diagnosed with-a heart disease"
And that's when I heard my heart completely stop, I froze in my place not being able to even blink. He must've felt it cause he pulled away looking up at me jn concern. Even in his situation and what he's going through, he's still concerned about me.
"Turns out that my mom has been going through that fight for a while now...my dad was always at work and on business trips-she was all me and my siblings had. So she just chose to suck it up and not to show any pain. I should've noticed, I should've payed more attention, now it's all my fault if she-"
"Don't! It's not your fault, okay? It's no one's fault, your mom's a strong woman from what I heard from you and she's not going to give up this fight. You just need to be strong for her, for your siblings" I cut him off looking at him sternly.
How dare he think that it's his fault? It broke my heart even more that he's been going through so much pain this past week and there was probably no one there for him. I was soothing his back while he was back sobbing in my chest.
