Chapter 28-I Trust You

By now I felt completely numb to fight whoever was pulling me away, so instead of fighting, I chose to stay limp in his arms. It was obviously a guy from his strong grip on me and from how muscular his arms were.

"We can't leave her back there" I said weakly as I weakly pushed him off me, not finding neither power within me to fight anymore.

"She's gone, Grace. We need to get out of here before the place falls apart" he said finally loosening his grip on my arms, but still holding me in place.

I finally take a look at his face to realise that it was Josh. How didn't I notice before? A part of me wished it would've been Jason, but I knew that wasn't the case the second I didn't spot the familiar tattoos on the arms wrapped around me.

"I just can't believe someone else died because of me" I said, tears streaming down my cheeks.

"What happened to Maya and that girl was never your fault. Stop beating yourself up about something you couldn't have stopped" he said softly, pulling me into a tight hug as he rubbed my back comfortingly.

"No matter how many times people tell me that, I still find myself blaming it all on me. What if there was really something I could've done?" I said, but it came out muffled as my face was hidden in his chest.

"The guilt and what if's won't turn back time, Grace" he said, trying to ease some of my pain away.

"Thank you. For everything I mean" I said looking up at him.

"It's no problem" he said with a shrug and a small smile.

"You guys the place is falling apart, we need to move and fast "
I quickly turned around when I heard a too familiar voice. She walked up the stairs and towards us. Her face had some dark spots probably from the smoke of the explosions I've been hearing. Finally she came to a stop infront of us, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Abby..." I breathed pulling away from Josh and throwing myself in her arms.

"I'm so glad you're here" I whispered.

"I know I'm too loveable, but...uhh...you know how hugs make me feel" she said awkwardly wrapping her arms around me.

I chuckled lightly as she patted my back awkwardly before deciding this was enough and pulling away.

"It's crazy how much alike you and Vicky are yet you two always wound up bickering about the stupidest shit" I said only for her to roll her eyes at me.

"Speaking of Vicky, where is she? " I asked frowning slightly.

"She's in the warehouse with Noah, she doesn't know what's going on this very second. Noah knows though and I asked him to stall her off until we get back. You know how Vicky is, she would've gone complete on hulk if she knew you were kidnapped" she said rolling her eyes playfully and I couldn't help but smile at how protective my best friend is.

"The others are down there...where's Jenna? Jason sent her to get you..." she trailed off, pulling her eyebrows together.

I was thankful that I didn't have to answer her question for that another explosion sounded from down the stairs. I placed my hands quickly over my ears to somehow tune down the sound of the explosion. I didn't know what was going on, nor did I get the chance to ask. I was being pulled by Josh away and towards the staircase Abby came up just a couple minutes ago.

She was running right behind us when suddenly the room I was once held hostage in, started falling down. My eyes widened and I tried getting out of Josh's grip. He wasn't expecting it and so when I snatched my arm out of his grip, he couldn't hold me back. I ran past Abby and back towards the room. Completely ignoring their calls as I ran into the falling down room. My eyes fell on Jenna's body and I quickly made my way towards her.
