Apology Letter

Nathan,

If you found this letter I'm probably not around. Heh, didn't expect me to go out like this huh? Well, I didn't either.

I know you're wondering, and I'll tell you: I have no fucking clue as to why I saved you from that thing. I was just walking down the hall, heading back to class. I just happened to find you pinned under that zombie or whatever. I don't even know what happened or why. Maybe it was because the scene would've been horrifying? Moment of panic? I was feeling generous?

Maybe I did it because I sorta like you?

I don't know. All I know is that I grabbed a fire extinguisher and smashed that thing in the face and flung it off of you. When I heard the soldiers running down the hall I shoved you in my locker and locked it, then hid in the locker next to yours until they were gone.

I kept your ass safe for, I dunno. It was the beginning of October when I "took you under my wing" and I wrote this in mid January. Like three months.

It's actually still mid January, I've had this in my backpack for a few days. While you were running around looking for stuff to treat the bite that ugly fuck gave me I pulled it out to continue writing. You know it's too late, you know what you have to do. I'm not mad at you for doing the right thing, assuming you're reading this after you put me down. Trust me, the last thing I'd want is to come back as a zombie and hurt you.

I want to die a hero and not come back a villain.

It'll be over soon Nate. I know it. They gotta be working on a cure, I just know it. Remember, life is still worth living! Find a reason to keep going! Mine was making sure you were safe.

I guess this is goodbye.

How was that? This is just a thing me and Rhi are working on. This entire letter was based off an animation I posted on Tumblr called "Dear Jon," which is basically Nathan's letter to Jonathan, meanwhile this is a letter Jonathan left for Nathan in case he... Isn't around.
