"Christina." I blink open my eyes and look over as Jennie steps forward. I smile sitting up and she moves over to me. Instantly I'm confused though, as I look around not recognizing anything.

"Where am I?" I ask

"The crossing." she whispers and I raise an eyebrow.

"The what?"

"The crossing. In other words, you're between life and death."

"Am I dead?" I ask and she shakes her head.

"No, but you will be if you don't snap out of it." she says and I look down at my bloodied chest. I press my fingers to it and gasp when a hole appears.

"My heart." I whisper yanking my hand back.

"He crushed it."

"Who?" I ask and she solemnly looks at me.

"Shane."

"Then I am dead." I whisper and she shakes her head.

"No."

"Then why am I here?"

"Because you're dying. This is where all dying souls come."

"Why am I awake?"

"Because you're special. Death has no claim over you yet."

"Until what?" I ask and she shrugs.

"I'm afraid I cannot give you that answer. But you'll know it when the time comes."

"How do I get out of here?" I ask and she points up.

"Find your way back to the light."

"Is it some rule that you can't give me a straight answer?" I ask and she sighs.

"I am though. You just aren't listening."  she says and I shake my head.

"I need to get out of here. I don't belong here."

"Then find your way." she says and I look up.

"But how do I- Jennie?" I ask finding her gone.

"Jennie!?" I shout cursing as I flop back onto the bed.

Well damn.

~~~
"She still hasn't woken up." I say the next day as Drew walks into the room.
"Her soul needs to find its way back. She's strong Luke, she'll find her way back, to here, and to us." he says handing me a glass of water then sitting down. I rub my face smothering a yawn.
"Sleep, I'll watch over her." he says and I shake my head.
"I'm ok."
"Sleep." he says sternly and I groan falling back onto the couch and passing out.
~~
I curse looking around.
"Follow the light. Well thanks for the advice Jennie!" I shout flopping back onto the bed. I rub my face and huff.
"You haven't already given up have you?"
"Jennie." I breathe out finding her sitting in front of me as I look up.
"The one and only."
"I need you to help me. Show me how to get out of here."
"No mam I cannot. That is against the rules. Only you can find your way out." she says and I sigh. I rub my jaw then something strikes me.
"Luke." I say then look up at the light.
There's an exit to every hell hole. Sometimes you just have to look at it from a different angle...
Someone once told me that.
I turn around to face her.
"The exit isn't up. It's down." I say and she smiles.
"I knew you'd figure it out." she says then swipes her hand over the floor. I gasp as light protrudes from the hole just now formed on the ground.
"Now get the hell out of here and go back to joining the world of the living." she says. I smirk looking over at her then jumping into the hole.
I blink open my eyes and place my hand to my chest feeling my heart beat gently against me. I slowly sit up and find Luke passed out on the couch. I look over at the clock and push hair over my shoulder.
6:30pm...
I hear talking outside of the door and look over as Luke jerks awake. He rubs his eyes dropping his head in his hands and I smirk.
"Sleeping on the job?"
His attention is instantly grabbed by me, as he whips his head in my direction. He stares at me with a blank expression then gets up. He walks, yet seems to run over to me. I smile as he pulls me tightly against him and breathes heavy. He breathes into my neck and I wrap my arms around him.
"I thought I'd lost you." he breathes and I shake my head.
"I'm not that easy to get rid of." I mumble with a smirk. He leans back, meeting my eyes and cupping my cheek.
~~
"Damn it!" I shout watching them look at each other.
He failed me! That son of a bitch failed me!
"Brett!" I shout then hear heavy footsteps and the rattling of chains. What steps from the shadows instantly draws my attention.
"What are you doing?" I hiss at Shane as his red eyes blaze at mine.
"Who the hell am I!?" he shouts throwing Brett's dead body at me. He falls at my feet and I look down, his red eyes wide open, staring up at me.
"You killed one of your own kind? You'll be punished." I hiss than instantly am in his grip.
"Now we can do this the hard way or the easy way. Who am I really!?" he shouts in my face. I look over his shoulder as Marian steps forward and I scoff.
"Of course you'd be apart of this, witch." I spit and she rolls her eyes.
"It was only a matter of time before your little pet here, learned he wasn't what or who you claimed." she says and Shane shoves the knife more into my neck. The blade cuts and I hiss at the burning sensation now filling me.
"Spill it Alec. What's my name!?" he shouts and I meet his eyes.
"Shane." I say
~~
He quickly releases me and backs up. I watch as he climbs off the bed and raise an eyebrow.
"I'm gonna grab a shower. Uh Grace is downstairs. She's been freaking out." he says disappearing into the bathroom. I slowly stand up and walk over to the room door. I go to push it open then look over my shoulder hearing the shower water turn on. I sigh then push open the door.
The little feet pounding on the floor let me know she's near. I laugh as she runs up the stairs and over to me.
"Chrissy!"
