"He called you a Healer." I say as Luke pushes open the door to our room.

"Why'd he call you a healer?" I ask as Grace sleeps gently on her bed.

"Christina I-

"Tell me." I growl low and he sighs.

"I am a Healer. But not a supernatural one. I'm human, simply gifted."

"So you can heal?"

"Only if the wound isn't lethal. Only if the person I'm healing, isn't already dying. Also black and dark magic, I can't heal either of them." he says and I look up at him.

"And you never told me." I say

"It was wrong of me-

"What was wrong of you? To get mad at me for not telling you my secret, yet keeping this to yourself?"

"I'm sorry, I acted wrongly. It was completely unfair for me to have done that." he says and I scoff standing up and stomping into the bathroom. He follows after me and shuts the door so we don't wake Grace.

"You wouldn't talk much less look at me, yet here you are now telling me your a damn Healer?"

"Please don't be mad."

"Don't be mad. Of course not! You can get mad at me but I can't be mad at you."

"Christina, this "gift" makes me do bad things too. I didn't want you to judge me."

"Well too late!" I shout and he sighs.

"Will you please hear me out?" he asks and I cross my arms but nod.

"You know how I told you I saw your death? That I saw me ripping your heart out?"

"Yes, I remember. But how does that have anything to do with you being a Healer?"

"If I don't heal, the opposite wants to take hold."

"What, killing?"

"Yes, it's this demonic thing within me. If I'm not healing it's like I need to kill."

"But you haven't."

"And I won't." he says and I try to wrap my brain around it all.

"So you're a healer, who has a demon within you, but is human?"

"Pretty much." he says and I stare at him blankly.

"So, are you mad at me?" he asks breaking in the growing silence. I scoff.

"I'll think about it. For now, we need a plan." I mumble then leave the bathroom.

~~

"We need to leave at dawn." Luke says to the guys as we walk down the stairs. This catches me off guard and I give him a sideways glance...

"Where are we gonna go?" Mike asks and he shrugs.

"No clue, but we aren't in the clear here anymore. Shane knows where we are, which means Alec knows where we are, which means we're not safe." he says and they nod.

"Leaving isn't the best plan though Luke." I say and he looks at me like I'm crazy.

"How the hell is it not?"

"Because I'm so sick and tired of running! They'll find us anywhere we go. Why keep running, when they're always one step ahead of us?"

"To keep us alive a little longer Christina."

"No. I'm done cowering away."

"So you'd rather put your life at risk?" he asks and I bite my lip. As if sensing a fight soon to break out, Mike quickly looks between us.

"I'm done running." I say

"He has powers Christina. He's too strong for us to stay here." Luke says

"And he'll be too strong for us anywhere else. Damn it, I am tired of running!" I exclaim and that catches Nick and Drew's attention.

"We all are. But it's all we can do Christina. He's strong and powerful, Shane isn't like the others." Nick says gently and I shake my head.

"I am tired of trying to escape of trying to get away! This is our life! I'm done being afraid. When are we gonna face this, face him?!" I hiss

"I understand you want this to come to an end. I understand you want to fight him off. But we are nothing compared to that army. If we don't leave, they'll flush us out and we'll have no chance against them. Their army is growing." Luke says

"We don't know that though, Shane came alone! We don't even know if he's with Alec anymore."

"Then that makes him even more dangerous. He's rogue, he's gone over the deep end. He put Drew and Mike in pain with the wave of his hand. He threw me against the wall and held me in an invisible force with the flick of his wrist! He knew that I was a Healer. That was only a taste of what he might possess. We need to get out of here. We need to find somewhere safe, we need to reload on weapons, and we need to conduct a plan. We can't just face him. We don't know what he has up his sleeve anymore. And if he honestly did pull away from Alec, it's because he didn't need him anymore. Which makes him even more dangerous."

"He knew who I was." I say "He didn't, when Alec had a hold on him. He reacted to me saying his name. He knows who he is and he knows who I am. He's not with Alec anymore." I say looking over all the guys.

"Then that makes him even more of a threat."

"Then we need to get rid of him now." I say and Luke shakes his head.

"It's not safe Christina."

"Nothing is safe anymore!" I shout "We can't keep running away!"

"It's all we can do right now."

"No. I won't." I say turning around and heading up the stairs. I shove open the door and a scream rips from my throat as the lights flick on. The figure still hidden in the shadows, turns to face me. An evil smirk casts over their face and I sob as what I assume is Grace, drops from his grip. Footsteps sound on the stairs as the figure steps into the light and tears clog my throat.

"Shane." I whisper and he looks at me with a smirk.

"One down, five to go." he says then vanishes. I sprint over to Grace and fall beside her as Luke reaches the room and runs in.

"Christina!" he shouts as I brush Grace's hair back.

"Grace. Grace." I whisper tears sliding down my cheeks.

"Grace please wake up." I whisper but she stays still.

"Grace. Grace please." I sob. Luke tries to pull me back and I scream fighting him off.

"Christina!" he shouts continuing to try and yank me away. I won't go, I won't leave her side. I scream fighting at him, trying to break free from his crushing grip.

"Grace!"
