I Think I'm In Love (a Dirkjake fanfic)

Chapter two: New Kid

Jake woke up groggily to his alarm clock playing a happy tune. He shut it off as he lifted himself up and sat in his bed. Jake grabbed his rectangular framed glasses and slipped them on. He got dressed in his attire and rushed down the stairs to meet Jane who was already up and about.
"Good morning Jake!" She called to him.
"Top of the morning to ya Janey," he responded.
"Breakfast?" She offered him a muffin which she had made the previous night.
"Absolutely." He took a bite and remembered how much he fancied Janey's baking. "Mmm, scrumptious."
She smiled. "Thank you," Jane checked her watch as she adjusted her blue bag. "Oh geez!"
Confused, Jake asked her a reasonable question, "what's the matter?"
"If we don't hurry, we'll be late for school!"
"Golly, I don't want to be late for MY first day!" Jake shouted in his British accent as the cousins rushed out the door.

They arrived at the school, panting. 10 minutes early. A blonde teen who looked around the same age as them walked up to Jane.
He smirked, "hey, why're you panting like that? You look like a dork."
"We had to run here."
"We?" The blondie looked over at Jake and blushed heavily. "Who's the guy?"
"Gosh, I'm sorry. This is my cousin Jake. He just moved here from England. And Jake, this is Dirk."
Jake, who had stopped panting, looked up at Dirk. Holy mackerel he's hot. Thought Jake as he looked at the boy.
"I'm Jake. Pleasure to make your acquaintance."
Dirk couldn't think straight. His accent was so cute. Somehow managing to keep a straight face, he replied in a deep Texan accent.
"The name's Dirk. Nice to meet you."
They shook hands and at the same time, they both thought to themselves. I think I'm in love.
