"Time really flies when you're not having fun," Tommy grumbled sarcastically. He copied down another answer from the textbook and sighed. "Back to the same nonsense." He looked up at me. "Honestly, training sounds a lot better than this right now."

My laugh was compressed. We sat in our dorm about two months later. The warm September breeze whistled its way through the open window. Tommy and I were assigned to create an essay about the history of SOSA and the whole world. Not that it would be a problem for Tommy, he basically knew everything there was about SOSA...but for me? I had no chance. Tom agreed that he'd write the essay only if I helped him pick out good details and edit it.

"So Alliot was around in 1950..." I said my voice trailing off. I looked up from the book to Tommy. "Could they still be alive?"

Tommy shook his head. "Don't think," he said. "They were in their twenties when they fought Draos. They'd be a hundred years old by now."

"So we don't live longer than normal age?"

Tommy laughed, "We may be stronger, but we still age the same."

"Damn..." I muttered.

Just then, the door slammed open and Nia stood there with a heaving breath. She walked over, relieved that we were sitting there, and flopped next to me cross-legged.

"Can we help you?" Tommy asked after a moment of silence.

Nia turned to me. "Do you remember the dream you had a few weeks ago? The one where you saw Draos?"

I nodded slowly, the memories coming back. "What about?"

Nia hesitated but then spoke anyway. "What you saw...the wolf aspect of it...it's real. You actually did see Draos."

"What?" Tommy and I said at the same time.

"But I've never seen Draos in my entire life!" I retorted. "I'm not Times, that's Tommy's job!"

"Yeah!" Tom agreed.

Nia sighed, "I know. Trust me, I know. Sara and I have been studying, working, doing a lot of research. In the last Alliot logs we found claims of Draos being wolf-like. Four arms...ten feet tall...rows and rows of teeth..." She shuttered. "I don't know why you saw the future, but you did."

"I saw him too," Tommy confessed. "A few days ago. It was right before training. I was in the bathroom minding my own business, washing my hands when all of a sudden I'm hit with these images from the past. Like real vivid things. I bloody lost it. Collapsed on the floor, twitching like a fish outta water. But I saw them. I saw the last Alliot. All bloody with cuts and scrapes and one...one had like no limbs. There was fire everywhere. Like nothing I've seen before. And...then...Draos. I saw something huge, like a rock or giant piece of concrete or something. Then I woke up, faced first on the bathroom floor. Sam was at my side shaking me. I was scared...really scared. That doesn't happen often with me, ya know?" He twiddled with his hands nervously and my stomach churned inside of me.

He stood up along with Nia. She gave him a tight squeeze and told him that he was okay.

"I'm scared Nia," he whispered, "I'm really fucking scared."

She rubbed her arm up and down his back to comfort him. From outside our room we heard Piers call us for dinner. Tommy and Nia exited the hug as I got up and put my books on the desk. He wiped the tears from his eyes and took a deep breath. He told himself that he was okay but I didn't think he believed it.

We walked out of our dorms and made our way to the Gathering Room. The rest of Alliot was sitting at our table already digging into the dinner set before them. I took a seat next to Ly and Kyle while Tommy and Nia sat on the opposite side of the rounded table. I gave myself a nice scope full of potatoes and corn. Then grabbed some chicken and ketchup.
