┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄

It's been five days since Hazel got here. One day since Denver Grace. Denver was flown in from New York City and certainly took a liking for Ly. Denver was fairly attractive and had caramel brown hair pulled back into a messy bun. Her eyes were blue and her smile was definitely a whole lot better looking than mine.

Denver and Ly bonded within five minutes of her existence at SOSA. Denver had made a snarky comment to someone and Ly went up to introduce herself. A snarky snap- "Can it, old man." And Ly was smitten. It was like love at damn first sight. They started talking, and Ly actually looked like she was having fun for a while.

Them being friends almost bugged me, they way they always laughed together over the coarse of the two days she was here. It's not that I wanted to be Denver, I just wished I had a friendship like hers. Sure, Nia and Tommy were like family. But that's what they were; family. Not friends. Thanks to my socially awkwardness, it was almost impossible to make friends without freaking them out. Kyle was pretty cool, along with Sam. But they were off in their own world that didn't include me.

It also did bug me that I was almost 100% positive they were gossiping about me and my dumb hair cut. I could hear them saying stuff about it. I tried to keep my mind off of it by talking to Kyle, Sam, and the others. I have gotten to know the both of them a lot better and often spent my time in their dorm, reading, or listening to music from my new jPhone.

I was sure that Ly and Denver made comments about it. I stuck by Kyle who had said to not let it bother me. It didn't bother me. Not really at least. I just had never been looked down upon in my whole life.

"Get used to it." Zane had said, slapping my back. I didn't know what to make of him. Sure, he was nice and friendly, but he just never said much nice things to me.

It was probably because he was on Ly's side. It was obvious enough that anyone with a brain could tell he liked her. The way he gazed at her while we walked back to Super's office  made it obvious. To me at least.

"Are w-we in trouble?" Sam whispered to me. I was walking next to him. Kyle walked on the other side of Sam.

"Not sure," I said, eyeing the way Piers walked. I couldn't tell whether he was angry or neutral. The walk leaned more towards neutral. "I don't think."

"You know what's funny?" Kyle asked, scratching the back of his head.

"What?" Sam and I said in unison. We exchanged a glance, almost as if we were kids getting all excited over saying the same thing at the same time. It made me almost laugh.

"They're nine Omegas, each a different power. Nia and Zane's last names? What if... what if we're Alliot?" Kyle whispered so that only Sam and I could hear.

"Alliot? Don't be silly we couldn't be." I said, looking straight ahead.

"M-Maybe he's right." Sam suggested. I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah okay. We're the Alpha team, Alliot. I'll believe that when I see it." I crossed my arms and sighed. "The 'prophecies' in the text books aren't real. Super said it himself." I made sure to use air quotes with my hands when I said the word prophecies.

Every who went to school knew about Alliot. In history class it was required to teach kids about the Elemental War. The eight men and women teaming up to fight the evil Draos who vowed to take over the world. In the end, only two out of the eight survived. The metal and the shifter survived. The rest perished. Not only did I know we weren't Alliot, I knew I didn't want to be them either. The thought of dying at the hands of Draos overwhelmed me. I didn't want to lose my arms like Harrison. Or die in the arms of my lover like Kara. I stared at the floor, longing, wishing, that Kyle's words were merely just a silly phrase in a children's story.
