┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄"I'm up!" A loud voice spoke.
My eyes snapped open once I heard the door slam. Around me I saw the ceiling of the hotel room, and Sam standing at the bathroom door with a surprised look on his face.
I could feel my heart beating rapidly in my chest. Being scared awake was not a good thing to wake up to. I sat up. Kyle rolled over and groaned while everyone else still slept. Piers was sitting up in the bed, holding his head.
"Is everyone alright?" He asked, sighing, as if he had a bad dream.
Sam didn't answer, but walked to the couch. He sat down and started playing his FanFare.
"We're okay," I replied, rubbing my eyes. I stretched and stood up, pulling a pair of joggers over my legs.
"I'm making a new rule," Piers said groggily. "No wake up calls unless I'm making them. Uhh...what time is it?"
"Seven-ish," Sam said flatly without looking up from his console.
"What's wrong?" I asked, noticing his blank look. He only wore that look when he was upset.
"Nothing," he replied.
I shrugged. "I'm gonna get some breakfast before they stop serving." I knelt down to Ly's side and shook her gently awake. "Ly? Ly, I'm going to get breakfast."
I woke the others up in almost record time. We ate breakfast in the hotel lounge room. After that, we got into our clothes and headed out.
The city was beautiful. It's skyscrapers gleamed silver towering above everything. People along the streets cartwheeled in fire, they danced with vines, and swung from cable the stretched between the buildings. Cars and people on hover boards races in the street. Kids laughed while they played together on the sidewalk. I had never seen so many elements before.
"Quite a sight, ain't it?" Kyle said, gazing at the skyline. "I would be impressed if I hadn't grown up here."
"What?" I asked, giving him a confused look. "You grew up here?"
"Surprised?"
"Uh—not at all."
Piers and the others walked out of the hotel soon after. I was glad they stopped the awkward situation before it got worse. We walked down the streets to the giant temple that was located in the center of the city. It was a square with round roofs, resembling the style of the Taj Mahal. There were long stairs leading up to the front door. It stood almost twenty feet high with equally large windows on either side.
In the main hall were eight statues of what seemed to be the former Alliot. They were all in fighting positions. In the center of the statue semi-circle was a woman who had shoulder length hair. Her stone eyes looked like snake's along with her seethed teeth. Sharing the middle was a male statue. His arms resembled metal coated ones. In the hands of the two, they seemed to be melding some kind of orb. The woman with light, the man with dark.
"Welcome to the Temple," Piers said holding his hands out. "Now, I have a meeting to attend to. It will be quicker than you can say molasses. Don't break anything, and happy exploring!"
Piers strutted off towards a locked door. Kyle took this opportunity to become the leader. He stepped through our group and faced us.
"I used to go here every other Thursday! I can show us around!" He said with a loud voice. He walked over to the statues, pointing to each one. "First we have Sasha, then James, then we have Frankie. In the center is Amara and Harrison. On the right of Harris is Paul, Wendy, and Kara!"
