The news hit me like a ton of bricks. Alliot. The world's greatest team. Us. The thoughts swirled in my head as I tried to stop myself. Don' t go Invisa, Sam. Don't go Invisa, Sam. I chanted in my head, but my efforts were in vain. I felt myself slip into an invisible state and ran my hands down my face. It was always like this- I'd try my hardest to remain calm, visible, and structured. It hardly ever works. I felt a hand on the top of my head, and looked up, confused.

"That's my head, Hazzy, n-not my shoulder," I said, and she moved her hand lower, falling on top of my shoulder. It was nice of her to try to comfort me, but it wasn't working very well. I was freaking out. Our small, untrained team of eight teenagers was expected to save the entire world from a gigantic attack by something that most people didn't even know existed. I ran a hand down my face, taking a deep breath.

"Additionally, you will all be relocated to the joined dorms, which will have the same furnishing as your old rooms, spare a door connecting each of the four in a horizontal line," Super said, and dismissed us with a wave of his hand. I grabbed my bookbag from where it sat outside the room. Kyle, Hazzy, Jack, and I veered off in the right direction, towards the far wing. I spotted Zane, Ly, Tommy, and Nia heading the other way.

"I feel like I'm gonna hurl," Kyle said, fiddling with the hem of his shirt. Our little crusade had taken the news as bad as we could have, so it seems. Jack nodded, her eyes downcast.

"This is usually the time I'd make a joke, but... I don't know." Hazzy muttered. We arrived at the dorms where we'd spent weeks, playing games and joking around, no idea of the responsibility we carried. I looked around the small room, Kyle's items all in an orderly pile, and mine strewn about the room. I began to pick up my stuff when I heard Jack's voice over my shoulder.

"We need to train." She said, quietly.

"No shit." Kyle retorted, propping open his suitcase.

"No, I mean we need to train hard. We all seem so sad right now, but we need to stop being sad if we can ever expect to win. We need to be determined, to be courageous. We need to be strong." Jack said. She looked around the room with a small smile on her face, as if she saw what was coming in the future, with all its rough times and jagged edges. As if she knew we would get a happy ending, when even I was beginning to doubt that myself. "We need to be Alliot." She finished her speech by turning around and leaving the dorm, a grin plastered on her face.

"Well, I'm glad she feels so splendid," Hazzy said, plopping down Indian style on the carpet.

"I think she has a point," Kyle said, still staring at the space Jack once occupied. "If we're going to work as a team, we need to start acting like one." He zipped the final zipper on his luggage, marking the end of the packing he needed to do to switch rooms. He nodded back at Hazzy and me, before wheeling the suitcase behind him out the door.

"W-we should probably go rejoin Super and the rest of the B-Betas." I said, blindly stuffing my stuff into my suitcase. "W-where's your b-baggage, anyways?"

"Oh, it's still in my room. In fact, while you finish here, I'm going to get that real quick." She said, closing her eyes.

"Uh, Hazz? Hate to b-burst your b-bubble, b-but you n-need to actually g-go out there if you plan on g-getting anything at all." I said, sighing. "Unless you expect m-me to get it for you, w-which isn't exactly going to happen." She didn't move from her position. I rolled my eyes and stuffed the rest of my clothing into my duffel, having to sit on it to fully close the zipper. I stood up with a huff, pulling the bag up onto my shoulder, and grabbing the rolling suitcase to my right. I looked back at Hazzy, still in the same position.
