Naturally when you find out that you're a superhuman freak with the ability to be unstoppable you'd say the guy was insane. Finding out that the strange and impossible things you and only you can do are real at seventeen is difficult.

More difficult than I could ever imagine. I never found out I was an Element, I was raised into it. This is why I couldn't relate to the four people walking in front of me.

Piers led us into the Gathering Room. It always reminded me of the Great Hall in Harry Potter, minus the magical floating candles that is. The room was a worn shade of white and pale blue, the ceiling was at least two stories high and large rectangular windows covered the left and right walls. Round tables of eight populated the white tiled floor and a large stage was centered in the back of the room. Kids and agents were already seated and having conversations as Piers led the newbies up the stage. The people from my group, Nia, Tommy, and I took our seats at our table.

Our table is a little different from the rest of the Element groups. Usually each 'grade' had more than a few of their age. With Nia, Tommy, and I, we were the only ones in our grade to have the elemental powers. Until today. There were four newbies from what I heard. Zane Titanium, who I figured was the boy I just talked to outside with his rude girlfriend, Kyle James, and Samuel Torez. I had no idea whether there would be more of us. Deep down I honestly hoped there would be.

Agent Piers lined up the newbies onto the stage and proceeded with the monthly speech that we get when they arrive. "Welcome! Welcome! Welcome to our monthly meeting in the Gathering Room to introduce our newest elements!" Piers threw his hands up and few people cheered. I watched the newbies standing awkwardly on stage. "I'm excited to bring you the newest addition to our ever-growing school. My apologies for calling you all out like this, but it is my job after all..." Piers' voice trailed off. Then he began going into the rules of SOSA, what was permitted, what wasn't permitted. It was all just reruns of nonsense for me at this point. Finally, after at least fifteen minutes of questions and concerns, Piers was finished. "Alright you newbies, our senior elements here are going to take you on a tour of SOSA and hopefully help you learn the gist of things. Now let me make I didn't forget anyone..." Piers' voice trailed off and he then pulled out his clipboard and began going over names. "Zane Titanium?"

"Here."

He went over the list of names, and I had been right. So far, the kids I had been told were here, and some of them were seniors. Newest additions to our group. My nerves tingled with excitement, but also anxiety. What would they think of me? Were they friendly? I decided to be my normal self and not speak a word to them unless spoken too. Though it pained me inside to not be extroverted, I stayed to myself anyways. Piers finally called his last name.

"Ly Panar?" Silence filled the room. "Ly Panar?"

"Here." Everyone turned their heads including me to the main door of the Gathering room. The blonde girl who gave Nia the smart comment stood at the entrance. She had green cargo pants on and a blue plaid T-shirt. Her blonde hair was pulled back in a ponytail and she smirked.

"Glad you could make it Miss Panar. I'd appreciate it if you would follow my fellow seniors here. They'll be giving you a tour of the school. Hopefully you don't get lost again." I tried to hold back my laughter at Piers' sly comment. Who was the one getting dissed now? I was beginning to really not like this new girl.

"Alright newbies, follow the seniors!" Agent Piers lead the elements down the stage and my table got up and walked out the door along with the newbies and Ly. I hung in the back to make sure nobody wandered off and, to be honest, I was really done with the tour. Up until a few months ago, I had been giving the speech every time. It was exhausting and I knew it by heart. Which I wish I didn't. Luckily, next year when Nia, Tommy, and I graduated to be Agents, the new seniors would take over and deliver the speech. Two more months, I told myself.
