Chapter 4

 

I couldn’t believe how my dad was acting or how he was being so…old when it came to his people. I still keep thinking back to what happened in the dining room.

Flashback…

 

‘Sir If you just listen to me then you would understand’ Jacob was pleading to my father

‘You are not to imprint on my daughter unless they are changed!’ he yelled frustrated

‘I didn’t know and it just happened, that’s how it goes I can’t help that I imprinted on her when she’s not changed into what ever she changes into!’ Jacob yelled back looking at me.

I was sitting in the living room watching what was going down

‘I must give permission to hand my daughter’s freedom over to you’ he said shaking

‘Then why don’t you give it to me, I love your daughter’ Jacob stood against my dad, he looked like an alpha

‘You must battle me for it’ my dad scoffed at him like he was my dad

‘Wait dad no I give Jacob permission to have my freedom, he already took it!’ I yelled holding Jacobs arm

‘That’s not how it works darling! So do you accept the fight mongrel’ my dad stepped closer

‘Yes and I will win!’ Jacob sneered shaking.

I started to leave with Jacob but what my dad said next broke me

‘You are not to see my daughter or your pack till the day of the fight!’ my dad yelled grabbing me putting me behind him

‘You can’t do that to us’

‘The hell I can’t Kora, I don’t care if we were split from the family but it’s still or heritage and we will respect it so your not going to see him till our family arrives here’ he yelled towards me

‘Ya and when will that be dad?!’ I yelled back at him

‘When I call them and they arrive, that is when you might see him’ my dad walked away to the kitchen to say my good byes.

I looked into Jacobs eyes to see him so hurt, or maybe he was mirroring mine. I started to get mad

‘Meet me in the woods in 5 minutes and I’ll be there okay’ I whispered enough for Jacob to hear

‘I don’t want you to get in trouble’ he said to me

‘I don’t care. You love me right’ I said and he nodded smiling.

He left and I went to my room

‘You know this is the best and what your grand fathers did through the ages’ he smiled

‘Ya whatever dad’ I shut my door and got ready to leave.

I put on a black t-shirt, black ripped jeans, and black wrestling shoes. I made sure I didn’t hear my dad. I jumped out the window and ran as fast as my legs pushed me to get to Jacob.

I waited around to find Jacob running towards me shirtless. He picked me up and hugged me like he hadn’t seen me for hours

‘Do you love me Jacob do you really’ I asked when he put me down

‘Oh course I do, I don’t want to loose you’ he said kissing my forehead

‘I don’t know if I love you but I hope I will because I don’t want you to loose this fight’ I said and started to tear up

‘Hey don’t cry I won’t’ he wiped the tear away with the pad of his thumb

‘If you do my dad will kill you so he can get rid of our imprint then when I change then I will get re imprinted’ I said sitting on the ground with him

‘I’ll make sure I don’t lose, I don’t want to loose you.’ He said cuddling me into his chest

‘So what kind of animal is your dad?’ Jacob asked trying to lighten the mood

‘Coyote’ I laughed at the thought of him and Jacob fighting.

‘I will so win, he will be small’ Jacob laughed even more

‘Ya hopefully’ I laughed.

We sat there talking for hours till I fell asleep on Jacob. I don’t want anyone hurt but what if the change happens when or before the fight happens. But right now I’m just going to enjoy the time with Jacob.
