~Steve's POV~We were all sat around in the tower celebrating finding the scepter. At first Tony seemed pretty upset about the thing with Kenzie but as soon as he started to drink he cheered right up. I guess it's just his way of dealing with things. It's not a good way but it's his way nevertheless.
"But it's a trick!" Clint laughed,he's also very drunk.
"No,no, it's much more than that!" Thor protested as I zoomed back into the conversation to see them discussing his hammer.
"Ah,whosever be he worthy shall haveth the power!" Clint shouted throwing his drum sticks up and then catching them.
"Whatever, man! It's a trick!" He shouted as Thor laughed.
"Please be my guest." Thor said gesturing towards the hammer.
"Come on!" Stark muttered and Clint turned to look at him.
"Really?" Clint asked as we all nodded.
"Yeah!" Stark said and Clint go up and walked to the hammer.
"Oh,this is gonna be beautiful!" Tony's friend James Rhodes or war machine muttered.
"Clint, you've had a tough week. We won't hold it against you if you can't get it up." Stark teased as Clint just glared at him whilst we all laughed.
"You know I've seen this before, right?" Clint asked turning to face the hammer. He smirked at Thor before trying to pick up the hammer. After a few attempts and him just grunting in frustration he turned to Thor and laughed.
"I still don't know how you do it!" He exclaimed smiling.
"Smell the silent judgement?" Tony asked and Clint turned to him.
"Please,Stark,by all means!" He said pointing at him.
Tony got up off of the couch he was sitting on and walked over to the hammer. He cleared his throat and Agent Hill and James both muttered something under their breath.
"Never one to shrink from an honest challenge." Stark started looking around at us all.
"Get after it!" Clint shouted but Stark just ignored him and continued.
"It's physics." He stated wrapping the handle around his wrist.
"Right,so,if I lift it,I then rule Asgard?" He asked turning to face Thor who smirked.
"Yes, of course." Thor replied casually.
"I will be fair but firmly cruel." Stark stated before trying to lift the hammer after a couple of try's he let go off it and glanced to the door.
"I'll be right back." He said and a few minutes later he came back with his iron man arm on. He tried to lift it with the iron man arm but still had no luck so he turned to James. James grabbed his war machine arm and they both tried to lift it however that didn't work either.
"Are you even pulling?" James asked him.
"Are you on my team?" Stark asked and James rolled his eyes.
"Just represent. Pull." He ordered.
"Alright. Let's go!" Stark shouted and they tried to lift it but it still didn't work.
Banner tried to lift it and when he couldn't he tried to convince us he was going to turn into the hulk, however none of us beloved him and I just smirked slightly.
"Huh?" Banner asked before I got up to try it.
"Go ahead,Steve. No pressure." Stark muttered.
"Come on, Cap!" Barton shouted as I rolled my sleeve up and grabbed the hammer. The first time I pulled it it moved slightly but once I tried again it wouldn't move at all so I gave up and went and sat back down ignoring Thor's smug face.
Stark cleared his throat as we all turned to look at Nat.
"And, Widow?" Bruce asked as she shook her head.
"Oh,no,no. That's not a question I need answered." She replied taking a sip of her beer.
"All deference to the man who wouldn't be King, but it's rigged." Stark stated smirking slightly.
"You bet your ass!" Clint said patting him on the shoulder.
"Steve,he said a bad language word." Agent Hill said pointing at Clint as I groaned.
"Did you tell everyone about that?" I asked turning to Stark.
"The handle's imprinted, right? Like a security code." Stark asked ignoring my question.
"Whosever is carrying Thor's fingerprints. Is I think, the literal translation." He stated glancing at Thor.
"Yes. It's a very, very interesting theory." Thor started getting up.
"I have a simpler one. You're all not worthy." He said picking up the hammer easily and holding it up as we all groaned.
Suddenly a loud high pitched noise screeched through the room and one of Tony's robots walked through to us.
"Worthy." It spoke in a screeching eerie voice you'd expect a person in a horror film to use.
"No. How could you be worthy?" It asked turning to face us. It had one arm and odd feet,it looked like all of the pieces from different robots had been joined together to make this thing.
"You're all killers." It said and I shot up from my seat.
"Stark!" I shouted as Stark shouted Jarvis.
"I'm sorry, I was asleep. Or I was a-dream." It replied cocking it's head in confusion.
"Reboot Legionnaire OS. We got a buggy suit." Stark muttered clinking on something on his computer thing.
"There was this terrible noise." The robot said clutching it's head.
"And I was tangled in....in...strings." It stuttered stumbling around the room a little.
"I had to kill the other guy. He was a good guy." He stated as we all stared in shock.
"You killed someone?" I asked taking a step closer.
"Wouldn't have been my first call. But, down in the real world, we're faced with ugly choices." It spoke slowly dragging words out.
"Who sent you?" Thor asked.
The robot played a voice recording of Tony speaking.
"I see a suit of armour around the world." The recording said.
"Ultron!" Bruce said he head shooting up in disbelief.
"In the flesh." It said.
"Or,no,not, yet. Not this chrysalis." It corrected itself after a few seconds.
"But I'm ready." It stated and I noticed Thor's grip on his hammer tighten.
"I'm on a mission." It said as I looked around the room.
"What mission?" Nat asked slowly.
"Peace in our time." The robot replied quickly before lots of Starks robots flew through the walls and started to attack us. I was knocked to the floor and so were a few others in our team. Thor hit a few of the robots as I got up. I attacked one of the robots but it just flew backwards in to a wall taking me with it. After throwing a few of the weaker robots to the floor I ran to try and help Tony.
"Hey cap!" Clint shouted before throwing me my shield,I threw it into one of the robots destroying it immediately.
"That was dramatic." The first robot said pacing around.
"I'm sorry,I know you mean well. You just didn't think it through. You want to protect the world but you don't want to change. How is humanity saved if it's not allowed to evolve?" It asked glancing around the now broken room.
"With these?" It asked picking up the head of one of Starks robots.
"These puppets. There's only one path to peace." It started as we all watched.
"The Avengers extinction."
