Nightmares and missing people

~Clint's POV~

"Guys." Steve shouted walking into the room before stopping and looking at me confusion written all over his face.

"Is she okay?" He asked glancing over to Kenzie who was asleep in my arms. We'd talked for a bit and eventually she stopped crying and fell asleep.

"Yeah she's just asleep." I whispered and he nodded his head slowly.
"What's the problem?"

"We've lost Stark and Bucky's gone too!" Steve exclaimed and I looked at him worriedly.

"What do you mean by the lost?" I asked sitting up against the side of my bed.

"Stark's just left and Bucky left a note saying that he had to spend some time alone trying to get his mindset right before he came back." Steve explained and I sighed.

"So at least we know why Bucky's gone and he will come back, he's not gone for good." I stated and Steve nodded.

"Well yes but why would Stark just leave?" He asked and I shrugged and glanced over at Kenzie.

"I'm gonna have to wake her up aren't I." I said and Steve nodded.

"Kenz." I said shaking her slightly.
"You need to wake up."

"Please don't go mom." She muttered stirring in my arms.
"Don't leave me."

I sighed softly and Steve did the same before I shook her again and she sat up slowly and looked at the two of us.

"What's wrong guys?" She asked worry evident in her tone of voice.

"Well Bucky left." Steve started before she interrupted him.

"What do you mean he left?" She asked.

"He left a note saying how he needed some time to sort out his mindset before coming back to the tower." I explained and she nodded her head sighing slightly in relief.

"But." Steve started and she interrupted him again.

"Wait there's more?" She asked and I nodded.

"Stark left, he didn't tell anyone where he went, he left no note he just left." Steve explained.

"Oh shit, this is all my fault." She stated and I shook my head.

"Come on Kenz, you know it isn't." I stated and she glared at me.

"He saw me and Johnny kissing though and then we argued and now he's gone!" She exclaimed getting up and pacing around the room.

"Are his clothes gone?" She asked and Steve nodded his head slowly before looking at me and mouthing Johnny.

"I'll explain later." I muttered before getting up walking to Kenzie and grabbing her arm.
"This is not your fault."

"It is, I should've never dated so soon after Tony, I shouldn't have brought Johnny to the tower let alone kissed in the corridor where anyone could see." She rambled on and I rolled my eyes.

"No one can blame you for moving on." Steve stated softly and she groaned.

"That's the thing though I'm not over him, I can't move on. What if he is gone? What if I can't forget him? It's like his name is burnt into my throat." She said and I sighed pulling her into my arms.

"We will find him Kenz don't worry we will found him." I whispered stroking the top of her head.

"It's like my heart's been smashed andHe I need to pick up the pieces but I just don't want to. Why are people so obsessed with fixing people's hearts. What's so good about picking up the pieces? I need him to help me because I can do this on my own." She said her voice gradually getting loudly before she burst into tears once again.

"We will find Stark but you need to calm down." Steve stated as she sobbed.
"How much sleep have you had this week?"

"How long was I asleep for then?" She asked moving out of my arms and looking at me.

"Not enough." I replied looking down at her.

"You rest and we'll start to try find Stark." Steve stated but she shook her head.

"I can't." She started and we both turned to face her.
"I can't sleep."

"Why not?" I asked.

"If I try to sleep they'll come and haunt me." She muttered and I sighed softly.

"What will?" Steve asked.
"Are you having nightmares Kenzie?"

"Ever since Chloe messed with my head I've been getting nightmares, every night when I close my eyes I see my parents die." She replied.

"Are they always the same?" I asked and she sighed slightly.

"It's always the same dream but most the time I can't wake up. It's like I'm trapped inside my dream." She explained and I glanced over at Steve who was looking at Kenz worriedly.

"Do you want me to stay with you?" I asked and she looked up at me.

"Honestly?" She asked and I nodded my head.
"Yes."

"Okay, you get some sleep and I'll go try see if we can find Tony." Steve stated before leaving the room. I walked over to the bed and put my arm out for Kenzie to come lay beside me.

"Thanks Clint." Kenzie said lying next to me.
"You're the best brother I've ever had."

"And you're the best little sister I've ever had." I replied smiling slightly.

"Night." She stated after a few minutes.

"Night."
