~3 months later~
(Tony's POV)"Where are you going?" I asked Kenzie as she walked towards the door. She just ignored me and walked out of the door.
Ever since that night she was injected with something from Hydra, she's been acting funny. She disappears for hours without telling anyone where she's gone. She spaces out a lot and occasionally starts speaking Russian in her sleep. I don't know what's wrong with her but it's definitely got something to do with Hydra.
"Stark!" Nat shouted and I turned round to see her and Clint standing by the door.
"Steve wants a team meeting." Clint stated and I rolled my eyes.
"Kenzie isn't here." I replied hoping to get out of the meeting. Nat just smiled and shook her head before walking down the corridor and gesturing for me to follow. Rolling my eyes once again, I followed the two of them until we reached the living room where the rest of the team were sitting around the table.
"What's this about?" I asked sitting down next to Bruce and Thor.
"We need to talk about Kenzie." Steve stated as everyone nodded their heads.
"She keeps disappearing." Nat said worry evident in her voice. Her and Kenzie got really close and now she's gone all distant and secretive again.
"I think it's something to do with whatever Hydra injected her with." Bruce started.
"They obviously lied about what it was because it never showed her any fears and the injection they gave Chloe killed her.""Maybe she's finally lost it." Clint stated and everyone glared at him.
"Look I was joking!" He defended after a few minutes.
"I say next time she leaves we follow her." Pietro suggested slowly.
"That's not a bad idea, but not all of us can follow her. She's smart she'll find out straight away." Nat said and Clint and Wanda nodded their heads in agreement.
"So who goes?"
(Kenzie's POV)
Screaming in pain, I clutched my head as I looked at the area around me. I don't remember anything that happened since I left the tower but here I was now surrounded by blood, guts and bodies. Six dead men lay on the ground, one's head had been chopped off, another's heart had been ripped out of their chest. Each of them had died in the most horrific ways and I couldn't even remember doing it. Blood oozed from my side and I guessed one of them must've put up a fight obviously not ready to embrace the cold arms of death. But this new me, the me I couldn't control didn't care, I'd ripped this mans heart out not even knowing their name. Even the psychotic fifteen year old driven purely by the thought of getting revenge for her parents death wasn't as bad as this. It's like the demons in my head have been enhanced by whatever Hydra did to me and I don't know what to do to stop it.
Taking one last glance around me a sharp pain in my side knocked me out of my thoughts. I knew that if I didn't go get help soon I'd probably die. I can't heal myself here because I'll pass out before I finish and then one of my teammates will find me. Picking up my gun and placing it back in its holder, I stumbled away from the site and away from the damage I've caused. I knew I had a friend who lived about two minutes away so I headed their and preyed to god they were there. Luckily for me they don't go out a lot anymore so I got straight into the abandoned building they're living in and sat down in the mattress they're using as a bed.
"Are you sure you're okay? What did they make you do this time?" They asked and I nodded weakly.
"I'll tell you when I'm healed, so prepare for me to pass out." I whispered my throat dry and sore.
"Okay." They reply back before sitting down on the seat next to the bed.
I got to work healing myself and within minutes I could feel the wound healing and my head feeling weaker. Slowly the blood stopped pouring and I felt my head be moved onto a pillow before I passed out.
