I waited fifteen minutes, my hand reaching for my phone every few seconds to check the time. Fifteen minutes dragged on until it had been a half an hour of Alexander being gone. I fell asleep curled around his pillow around forty minutes into my waiting game and woke up an hour later. Finding that I was still alone had my heart sinking; a suffocating feeling had my body feeling numb.
I stumbled out of his bed, nearly tripping over his strewn clothes and schoolbooks. I willed myself to remember how to maneuver around the hallways but each turn I took looked the same as the last. Not one family picture or sign to distinguish one hall from the last. It wasn't until I heard footsteps coming from the other end of the hall that I breathed a sigh of relief.
Alexander's sister was strutting down the narrow space, somehow knowing exactly where she was going even though her eyes never left her phone. She would have run into me if I didn't say anything. "Uhm... Emily right?" She stopped almost robotically, her thumbs pausing their motions on her screen.
"Can I help you?" Her blue eyes flickered around the hall, blonde hair curled and denim shorts looking oddly tight and uncomfortable. I wondered deeply how bad of wedgie she had.
"I'm looking for Alexander, do you know where he is?" I narrowed my eyes as she gave me a once over. It wasn't the same gaze as Alexander's. Somehow her eyes seemed much more lifeless and boring.
"Probably hot-boxing his bathroom, I don't fucking know about him, but you're way too pretty to be one of his dirty stoner friends."
"Dirty- wait what? No, I was just in his room and he isn't there." I was borderline concerned for her mental health when she winked at me. Lord grant me the strength not to roast this bitch.
"Oh... Ha, did you check the roof? He loves it up there." I let an irritated smirk twitch onto my lips before bringing a hand up as if to tell her to pause.
"I'm going to ask you again... think about your answer this time." I blinked, a fake smile on my face. "Do you know where I can find Alexander?" My words were acid and she took the hint. Her brow quirked before her eyes narrowed into a challenging glare.
"Or what princess?" She laughed rolling her eyes before she bowed her head, eyes on her phone screen as she began walking down the hall again. Her shoulder met mine roughly in a purposeful shove and I would have let it slide, been the bigger person and just ignored her but she let her mouth run. "Didn't think so... faggot." And like the impulsive person I am I let my foot catch her ankle, and in one swift motion she was toppling onto the hard wood, her phone flying out of her hand and clattering along the floor with a few successful cracks.
I glanced down at her, meeting her eyes. "Dirty bitch." I let the words slip. "And some advice from a faggot, buy some shorts that fit. Those look like they are tearing up your ass, I would know." I rolled my eyes, turning on my heels. I just needed to find Alexander.

"Fuck your giant house. Fuck the empty halls. Fuck your pretty boy ass for disappearing..." I spoke to myself as I bounded down the stairs for the third time. I considered that maybe he just left but the red Ferrari was still parked in the garage, shiny and expensive. Alexander was too lazy to walk just about anywhere so I took the chance that he was still here.
"Looking for Alexander?" I stopped my trek through the kitchen, seeing a head peek up from behind the counter.
"Uhm... yeah, who are you?" I leaned over the counter. Seeing a girl, light brown hair tied as she ran a cloth over the cabinets.
