~Chapter 40~

Jack: "Jenn, please let me tell you something." Him..

Me: "Uh-"

Jack: "I'm begging you."

Me: "Uhm, uh, you have one minute." I let him inside and he starts his explaining.

Jack: "The thing is, I'm not dating Nadine."

Me: "Then what was the phone call about?"

Jack: "It was for our high school play."

Me: "School play, huh? How come I never knew?"

Jack: "I wanted to surprise you with it because I remember telling you how a life goal of mine was to conquer my biggest fear. If you don't remember, the fear is acting out in front of people on stage. You said if I did it, you'd be more than proud of me, and congratulate me with something."

Me: "Oh?"

Jack: "SO Nadine and I were practicing the lines since she's in upper Philadelphia with her parents. I told her it was fine to call me whenever to practice the lines with me."

Me: "That makes more sense.."

Jack: "Are you fucking kidding? I wouldn't do such a thing to you. Your too special to be hurt."

Me: "Thanks. Sorry for doubting you. I feel really bad about it." I look down in shame.

Jack: "Jenn, it's cool. Seriously."

Me: "No it's not. If I love someone, such as you, I shouldn't get mad at you without knowing what actually happened. I said I feel bad and I always will about this situation. So, I'm very sorry and I love you." I take his face and kiss him slowly as if I were in a movie.

Jack: "I love you too."

Me: "Who's that ring for by the way? The one you were buying the other day. Is it for the play?"

Jack: "Bitch, that was two thousand five hundred dollars. Hell no. Thanks for reminding me, it was for you." He gets down on one knee..

Me: "Huh?"

Jack: "I promise to love you for the rest of my life this day forward. Jennifer, will you please marry me?" Tears fall from his eyes, same for me.

Me: "Yes." I can barely speak.

Jack slides the gorgeous diamond ring on my finger. Afterwards, he hugs me to death and all we do is joyfully cry in each other's arms.
