Why do people leave us?
They pretend to Care
Care....quite the word
Filled with promise
Usually ends in despair
Sometimes tears
Occasionally, however
It's the truth
They care
But that's rare.
And that's sad.
Don't pretend you care
Please don't pretend you don't
Both of these hurts people
People like you and me
You've been hurt
Nearly everyone has
It's not cool to fake feelings, or a lack of them
We begin to doubt ourselves
Whether we are good enough or not
If we're just wasting people's Time with our existence
Left alone long enough our brains will think these false thoughts true.
Don't let that happen
Be honest with yourself
Do you really care
Or are you lying to them
Remove yourself from harmful relationships
But don't leave just to spite
That leaves scars forever
Which is longer than you may think
Be kind
Be respectful
It may come back to you
Remeber to care
