Third Person POV
I miss you...
I need you...
I love you...
Those three phrases replayed in Miyeon's mind like a broken record player whenever she saw Jimin. The same phrases rang through Jungkook's head when he realized that like all the other girls he tried to talk to... His conversations with Miyeon were awkward and short.
He thought that things would never be the same and the words Suga had told him to encourage him faded. He didn't know what to do. It was his first love and although he had loved her for a long time, he was too innocent to know what to do.
It was after school, a few days after he had backhugged her and killed himself inside for what felt like the 100th time. He saw Miyeon with a desperate expression... The same one she had when Jungkook had argued with her after her breakup with Jimin. He saw her leaving the opposite direction of the school's exit. Jungkook knew he shouldn't snoop in other people's business, but this wasn't just an ordinary person, it was Miyeon.
He followed slowly behind to the... Classroom. He peered though the slightly opened door, eyes widening at the sight of Jimin and Miyeon staring at each other. Jimin's expression was blank while Miyeon's was still the same as before. Desperate.
Jungkook held his breath, anticipating what was going to happen next.
"Jimin... I miss you so much..." Miyeon said, tears filling her eyes as her heart dropped. Jimin looked at her with the same blank expression... But Jungkook could make out a slight sadness in his eyes.
"Miyeon... Why do you miss me? You should know that I'm a bad guy... I don't love you... I don't miss you... I don't want you in my sight." Jimin was trying to keep a straight face. He turned to leave when Miyeon suddenly hugged him from behind. Jimin longed for her touch... But he couldn't give in... He had to stay away from her and he thought the only way to make her leave was to make her hate him... But it wasn't working... And he wanted to hug her so badly. He wanted to hold her tightly and kiss her soft lips. He missed her too, but he couldn't be with her... As much as he wanted to, he couldn't.
"Get away from me..." Jimin growled, Jungkook watching from the shadows and Miyeon clinging onto him tighter.
"I said... Get away from me!" Jimin raised his voice and pried her hands off of his waist. He pushed her away, her back hit the wall and she fell to her knees. She looked at him with tears running down her cheeks like a river. "Jimin..." She whimpered.
Jungkook without hesitation rushed in and punched Jimin across his face. He stumbled back and fell on his butt, wiping his now busted lip then looking up at Jungkook in disbelief.
Jungkook pulled Miyeon up and held her wrist tightly, pulling her out of the class.
He brought her to the entrance gate, everyone had left home already. Miyeon pulled away. "Why did you punch him!?" She raised her voice, Jungkook couldn't believe what she was saying. "What do you mean? I'm the bad guy now?"
"No... I'm the bad guy. You shouldn't have gotten involved. I deserved it, he told me to stop but I continued to hug him." Miyeon said, looking to the floor. Jungkook scoffed. "You don't deserve that! What kind of girl deserves to be pushed so hard that they get slammed against a wall that is almost ten feet away from you?!" Jungkook raised his voice this time.
He paused... Worry filled his heart. He grabbed her wrist. "Did he hit you when you were dating?!"
"No. That was the first time he ever did something like that." Miyeon said, Jungkook lifted her chin up with his fingers. "Look at me in the eye and tell me that he never has hit you before today."
She stared into his dark eyes that were filled with worry and anger... She wondered if this is how he had felt all this time... "Today was the first time that he has ever hurt me physically." She said, telling the truth. Jungkook's expression softened and he continued to pull her along. "where are you taking me?" Miyeon asked.
"My house." He replied without looking at her. "Why?" She asked, he didn't respond.
When they got to his house, he dragged her to his room, sitting her on the bed then disappearing for a while. She looked around the room while he was gone, her gaze fell upon the picture he had next to his bed... The one they took at the park in Junior high... That day was his birthday... Miyeon was the only one who spent her day with him on his birthday since his parents were always busy. Miyeon could understand how lonely it could get since her parents weren't around often either... So every year on his birthday, she would take him where ever he wanted and spent the whole day with him, even sleeping over at his house.
That day, he had been begging his parents to go to the park with him since there was going to be a meteor shower that night and that park was the most open spaced spot he could think of, not to mention that it was far from the city so it would be easier to see stars and the meteors... But when his parents weren't able to go since a business trip came up, Miyeon decided to take him.
She grabbed the picture frame and relived the day that happened. She remembered how happy Jungkook was and how pretty the meteor shower was...
"...That was the first time my heart raced because of you." Miyeon quickly looked up to see Jungkook with a first aid kit. She looked back at the picture, Jungkook got on his knees in front of Miyeon and inspected her knees which had scrapes that she didn't even realize she had gotten.
"... During the meteor shower... I only caught a glimpse of the meteors because my heart started to beat faster when I saw the way the moon light lit up your face... Your expression was full of wonder... And in your eyes were the reflection of the meteors." Jungkook smiled at the memory and got out a disinfectant and wiped it on her scrapes. She winced in pain. "I'm sorry... Please endure it." Jungkook said, trying to do it as quick and painless as possible.
"You were really beautiful that night... And you continued to get beautiful with time... Even now, with every second... You get prettier and prettier." Jungkook looked into her eyes with those last words. Miyeon was shocked at his sudden sweet words and his loving expression, it made her heart skip a beat.
"There... All done." Jungkook said as he finished putting a bandaid on her. "Want me to walk you home?" He offered, she shook her head. "It's okay..." She said then stood up.
"Thanks, Kookie." Miyeon mumbled before leaving.
