"Ahh." Our daughter screamed at the top of her lungs. Sweat was pouring off her forehead from the amount of heat and pain she was in. We could hear each bone break, registering another scream from our daughter. We wanted to help but we didn't know what was going on. We raised this human since she was an infant and now she was in a great amount of pain and we couldn't do a damn thing.
Another break happened then it reformed to heal. In all our years, we've never seen a human go through this. It didn't seem normal. We were wolves making it impossible for us to help our daughter. Her screams pierced through the skies, echoing down towards the valley. We were thankful that there was no human establishments around for her to be heard. One they would take her away from us and two they would kill us on spot.
By the fifth hour, her screams stopped but her breathing was still heavy and ragged. A pool of sweat laid beneath her as she continued to breath. Her eyes closed, looking like she was asleep. Suddenly something happened that we didn't expect. Her human form started to shrink and started to form into something else. Our two sons and daughter hid behind us as they stared at what used to be their sister. Her white hair shrunk and then started to sprout everywhere on her body. Her beautiful face started to disfigure and formed into a snout. Her hands and feet transformed into paws. Her human ears disappeared and wolf ears sprouted from her head. After many other transformation, she was now a full fledged white wolf.
We were hesitant at first but even though she transformed she was still our daughter. We inched towards her, sniffing her new found scent. She smelled like honey and a twist of vanilla.
"Is this a sign from the gods?" My wife asked me.
"I don't know sweetheart but we will manage. We'll do it for Aiyana."
