Brother as in Raoul?! I screamed in my thoughts.
So this is Raoul. Ain't he an arrogant ass. Tiana growled. Everyone nodded in agreement.
"If she's your mate, why is she with the other man." Raoul hissed.
"It's complicated. I have no choice and I wouldn't change it any other way. She's happy so I'm happy."
"You're not making any sense brother." Raoul said sternly.
"She's a hybrid Raoul. Something you don't know about. She has six heritages and each one has a mate, including me. Everyone here has accept it and isn't bothered by it. Now I respectively ask you to go to your room and don't come out until the Luna ball. Keep Lydia some company since she is your mate."
"Look who's talking but I can't. Lydia died three months ago when Roric was searching for someone." Raoul growled, his eyes becoming foggy with despair. "But I will go because I am a guest." He turned his back to everyone. "Just don't forget Aiyana. I'm not through with you yet." He hissed as he glanced over his shoulder at me once more before leaving towards the pack house. When he was a good distance away, Kano released me and I immediately dashed over to Cleo's side.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt?" I rambled out a good twenty questions. Cleo chuckled and patted my cheek.
"I'm fine Luna. Just a little smack but thank you for having my back. And you too Loki." Cleo smiled.
Loki blushed but coughed and nodded his head. "He says your welcome as well as I."
****
After being scolded by Caelan about my recklessness, I decided to go and check out my family. Using my vampire speed, I was at the edge of the forest in no time. I went behind a tree and stripped out of my clothes. I pictured Tiana, soon after that pops and cracks flooded my ears. I stretched out, readjusting to my body. As soon as I was ready, I darted to the pack. The different scents flooded my nose. But what really caught my attention was the smell of caribou. I slightly changed my coarse and went towards the caribou. Once they came into my view, I slowed down and crouched behind some bushes. Peeking over them, I saw at least twelve bucks grazing at the grass.
Rolling my shoulders, I pounced and with lightning speed I clamped my jaws down on four bucks. They all fell to the ground once I firmly landed, making all the other caribou run away in fear. Shaking my fur, I trotted over to my kills.
"I think this should be enough." I nodded to myself in agreement before I started to pull the carcasses onto my back. Thankfully my big size because of my werewolf gene, I was able to place all of them nicely on my back and these creatures were big. Once I knew they were secure, I used my vampire speed to arrive outside of Sai's temporary territory. Shyla and Ru came from around the corner. I guess they haven't noticed me yet. "Shyla, Ru." I howled.
Their ears perked up at the sound of my voice. They turned their head in my direction and smiled immediately plastered onto their faces. They pranced up to me, licking my face.
"Easy guys or I'll drop these." I giggled. Their eyes moved to my back. Immediately their mouths started to water. "Come on, let's go to the others and then everyone can feast."
They nodded as they stood at each side of me and talked. It was so nice to actually have a normal conversation. A sudden growl caught me off guard. I turned to the growl and found Quin baring his teeth at me.
"Oh hush Quin, it's me you great oaf." I chuckled. Quin cocked his head, confused. It took a couple of minutes to let it soak in.
"My liege I'm so sorry." Quin bowed his head.
"It's alright. Your not used to my wolf, let alone to me frequent visiting. Now follow along. I'll probably need help getting these off once we get there."
Quin nodded and jumped next to Ru. After minutes of walking, we arrived at the den. Sai was talking to Lyell about something. Mom and dad were sleeping in the corner with Audrey while everyone else was doing what they normally would do. I whistled/howled, catching everyone's attention.
"I bring gifts." I said while turning slightly, revealing the caribou. Tails started to wag. Quin grabbed ahold of one and tossed it to his left, then the next one to his right, the other to his front and the last one behind him. Everyone gathered around, thanked me and the ancestors before eating. It was good seeing them eat, I couldn't help but notice that they were all bones. They haven't eaten in a while. Quin walked over and sat down next to me, his eyes filled with sadness.
I am a horrible mate Aiyana. Quin's thoughts flowed into my mind.
Why do you say that?
I couldn't even feed her let alone the pack. I'm a failure of a pack member as well as a mate.
Don't blame yourself Quin. The caribou just arrived today according to the season change. There will be plenty of opportunities here after.
I hope so.
There will. I playfully slapped him on his snout with my paw. After he made sure everyone had their share, he grabbed a piece for himself. "Quin?"
"Yes Aiyana?"
"What is the Luna ball?"
"Luna ball?" His eyes hazed over as he went through his thoughts. "Ah yes I remember. It's were all the packs around the continent come an pay a visit to the new Luna of the pack."
"So you mean all of the higher ups will be there?" I scuffled my paw across the dirt.
"Yes so will be the Elders. I guess I have to come in a bit." He chuckled.
"I ran into Raoul today." I admitted, not looking Quin in the eye.
"So you've met the infamous Raoul?" He acted causal for a moment before he jumped to his paws. "How'd he treat you? Are you okay?" He panicked.
"Yes. It's just I wanted to pummel his ass."
"What he say?"
"He thought I was some whore even though I was mated to Caelan. But when my other mates came around it only convinced him more. Before my mates, Cleo tried to calm me down but she got struck by Raoul instead. I was going to rip his head off for hurting my friend and pack member. But Caelan stopped me because if I went further I would have started a war. Yay me." I laid down and placed my head on my paws. Quin sat down beside me, lost in thought.
"I knew Raoul was in a rough place but this is ridiculous. He actually wanted to start a war? Why? And why hit a female?"
"He lost his mate three years ago because of Roric."
"Oh." Quin's eyes glossed over as he looked to Audrey. He was already grieving for her even though she wasn't gone yet. "I feel sorry for him but that is no reason to harm a she wolf, let alone call our liege that."
"It's fine for now but I don't know how long I can hold back my temper let alone Loki's." My tail flicked with irritation.
"Well we'll deal with him once the ball starts. Of what I am gathering its in three days according to the Elders." Quin smiled.
"Are they here already? I thought they left?"
"Nah, they stuck around."
"Yay." I rolled my eyes. "More people to deal with. I wish I could come back to my life sometimes." I looked at Sai and my family, my own tears threatening to escape. "I miss them so much."
"From what I remember you were an Omega. How could you enjoy that?"
"It was home." A tear trickled down my white fur. "Sometimes I don't feel like I belong there but I was accepted here none the less. Omega or not." Sai and Lyell's ears perked up and their eyes focused onto me then to Quin. Their ears flattened and a growl formed in their throats. I shook my head violently. "It wasn't him you guys. I just miss home." I sniffed.
Sai and Lyell whimpered and came over to my side. They laid down next to me. Sai placing his chin on my head while Lyell placed his chin on my back. They were trying to give me brotherly comfort.
"Yana don't worry. No one will ever replace you." Lyell cooed.
"Like anybody could replace the hell raiser of a sister. She was our joy. She is our family and no distance is ever going to stop that." Sai chuckled before licking the back of my ear. A sad smile crept to my lips.
"Thank you guys." I snuggled down deeper and enjoyed my brothers company.
****
A howl pulled me out of sleep, but I don't remember sleeping. A sudden weight from my back and head was lifted off of me. It seemed that Sai and Lyell fell asleep as well. Now I don't feel as bad. I yawned and looked around. Everyone's gazes were locked onto something.
"Guys what's going on?" I said yawning. I slowly got to my feet and looked to where everyone was looking. I saw a small she wolf limping over to us. I squinted, hoping to see who it was. I noticed that this she wolfs stomach was slightly extended. My eyes grew wide when I saw blood coating certain parts of her fur. Now I could see who it was, my breath hitched and my heart stopped. I flew out of my spot and hugged/held her up. "Oh my gods, Cleo what happened?"
"Someone attacked the pack."
"Is everyone okay? Caelan? Alaster?" I panicked. At the mention of Alaster, she flinched. My jaw clenched. "Cleo stay with them. They may be regular wolves but you'll have some protection. Quin will also look after you."
Cleo nodded. "Yes Luna." She hugged me tightly as she could without hurting her injured leg. "Be careful." She whispered in my ear.
"Will do." I said calmly. I looked at everyone one last time before I dashed towards the pack. With each step, I could feel my anger surge. With each jump, everyone was merging their anger with mine. Finally I felt Loki come to the surface. My body morphed into a human man. I was no longer on paws. I could see my claws extending, my wings growing, and my tail swishing with anger. My muscles flexed as we pushed forward. I ran out with amazing speed that couldn't be determined. I made sure to pick up pants from the stashed along the way. Once I was at the edge of the forest, I pounced through the trees. I came upon what I thought I would never see again. Werewolves that I didn't recognize were attacking my pack and they smelled horrible. They smelled like rotting flesh that was exposed to the sun for ten days. I placed my hand to my nose. I felt like I was going to be sick.
Pay attention. Loki hissed. Or I will take over.
I looked up to see a werewolf pounce at me. Their eyes held so much blood lust. There was only one thing werewolves hated more than other species, it was their own kind turning against them. ROUGES! The rogue let out a disoriented growl/howl as he went to bite my arm. I swung my arm upwards and sliced him with my claws. The rogue landed a few feet behind me, whimpering. I looked over and saw a male gripping his stomach.
It gets better. Loki chimed.
Suddenly the rogue starts screaming in agony. His body thrashes around. He kept trying to put something out. Then a sudden spark flashed a crossed his body and he was engulfed in flames. I had to let Loki take over otherwise I would try to help put out the poor fool.
How the hell did that happen? I asked him.
It's called Hell Fire darlin'. Loki snickered. It makes an enemy burn from the inside out.
You seem to be enjoying it.
Why not? These creatures are long gone. They only know how to kill, eat, multiply.
Let's go then. We have a pack to save. I smiled.
That a girl. Loki smiled as he cracked his neck and lunged forward. He sliced through three rogues that was attacking a group of my pack members. It looked to be Luka and his gang. Gods they are hopeless. Loki rolled his eyes as the rogues bursted into flame. Luka growled at me. Loki arched his brow, licked the blood from his claws and smiled at Luka. "Now is that any way to speak to your Luna?"
Luka's head tilted.
"I'll explain later. Just help get the rest of the woman and children to the bunker." Loki shouted orders. Luka looked at me doubtfully but nodded as he ushered some other wolves away. Now that was taken care of, I looked around. I found my mates holding off some rogues. I dashed forward, slashing at the rogues. They fell one by one, my mates looking at me weirdly. I guess I deserve that because I didn't show them my other forms yet. Cracking my knuckles, Loki dashed off again. A sudden scream made me come to a screeching halt. I turned and found Sage holding Ben and Renee in her arms while Travis was fending off four to six rogue along with Kano. Loki froze when his eyes locked onto Kano. Loki was almost drooling at the sight of him.
Loki focus man. Those rogues are about to hurt Kano.
But what if he don't like me Yana.
Then he's a worthless mate if he can't see how special you are.
Loki smiled. Thanks Yana.
Loki nodded and then flashed over to Kano and Travis. Loki made it just in time and received a good chomp on his arm. He let out a loud hiss and pushed back the rogue. His wings twitched with impatience as well as pain. He could feel Sage's, Travis' and Kano's eyes staring at him from the back of the head. Loki looked down at his arm and laughed, which confused everyone around him.
"You shouldn't have done that. Do you know who my heritor is? She's going to have your hide." Loki shook his head. "Better take you out before she can. At least I'll make it as painless as possible." Loki ran at the rogues and slashed. The rogues dropped, screaming in agony as they slowly burned to death. He chuckled as he watched the corpses burn. Once he had his fill, he turned towards everyone. "Sage are you okay?"
"Who are you?" Sage cocked her head while Travis, still in wolf form, circled around her growling at me.
"I'll give you a guess." Loki smiled while I felt something shift on my body. Sage gasped and walked towards us.
"Those eyes. Yana is that you."
"The one and only." Loki smiled. "But the names Loki, I'm here demon heritage. Is everything okay?"
"Don't know. We were suddenly attacked. I think Caelan and Alaster are trapped over by the training grounds." Sage said while calming a now awake Ben.
"Travis, get Sage to the bunker. I'll come for you guys once the rogues are gone."
Travis bowed his head in understanding. He grabbed and tugged Sage's pant leg. Sage looked at me with worry. I nodded. She smiled and ran after Travis to the bunker. All who was left was Kano. When it finally got through Loki's thick head, he suddenly became very nervous. This was his first time fully transformed in front of Kano. He slowly turned to Kano, who was giving us a glance over. His eyes held no emotion which was making our heart go on a rampage. Kano was silent as he approached us. I could feel Loki's palms starting to sweat. He stopped a foot in front of us, still not saying a word. As the seconds ticked by, it felt like agony.
Suddenly the unthinkable happened, he kissed us. It shocked both of us, that Loki lost over control and I returned to my small figure compared to him. We kissed what seemed like forever but once he pulled away, he smiled.
"You're both beautiful." He whispered in my ear and played with my white hair. A blush crept on my cheeks from his compliment. "And I like what I see." He snickered. I looked down and found my top half exposed. Immediately I shifted back into Loki, mentally blushing like a tomato.
"Uh, we...we better go see if Caelan and Alaster is okay?" Loki stuttered. Kano nodded as he followed behind as we advanced to the training field. Sage wasn't kidding when she said that they were trapped. Caelan was fending off at least ten rogues while protecting Alaster, who laid motionless on the ground. I skidded to a halt as I stared at his body. Tears started to well up in my eyes as well as Loki's. Alaster was one of our first real friends since we moved into this pack and here he is not moving. My sadness turned into anguish and my anguish turned into rage. My body shook as I took off, slicing through every rogue. Loki used everything he got to make sure that these rogues suffered tremendously. They all let out screams as the fell to the ground. Caelan looked at the scene with horror before he turns towards me and growled. I completely ignored him as I approached Alaster's body. He snapped at me but I didn't care. I fell to my knees beside him and cried. Loki gave up on control and again I was back to my original form.
"Alaster?" My voice cracked. He didn't move. "Alaster?" I asked again while poking his face. Again no movement. "Alaster please buddy wake up. You can't leave us now. I won't let you." I sniffed. When I heard no response, it felt like my whole world shattered. I let out a wail, so loud and so painful I would probably be considered a banshee after this. My whole body shook as my sadness washed over me. Everyone didn't like how Alaster wasn't here to tell us stories, to crack jokes, to be a brother as well as friend. We had lost family.
Suddenly Alvine took over partial control of my body, my fingers felt tingly. Red sparks flew off my finger tips. My hands then caught aflame. My hands got into the position of CPR. We went through the process of chest compressions and breaths. We gave it all we've got as the red flame engulfed his body. There were red ripples underneath his skin as I continued to do the compressions.
Come on buddy. Please don't leave us. We need you. Cleo needs you. Jake needs you. I cried in my thoughts.
As I went through more compressions, a flash of light appeared before my eyes. I was no longer in the training field, I was now in a large white room. I looked around and found Dangelo next to me.
"What's going on?" I asked him.
"I don't know." Dangelo said completely alert. He pulled me into his arms and put his wings out in front of us, so we could see everything but we were safe.
"No need to be frightened young ones." We heard a masculine voice. We still didn't see a figure.
"How can we not when you are not here?" I shouted into the room.
"She's got a point Metatron." Another male voice rung throughout the room.
"Hush Raphael." Metatron shushed.
"Whatever." Raphael said before a man appeared before us. He was about my grandfather Azrael's height. He had long black hair tied back into a ponytail. His eyes were the most prettiest green, they almost looked like emeralds. Attached to his back were the most beautiful white wings I ever saw. They sparkles like a thousand diamonds attached together. His body had a pretty good muscular frame. He smiled at us and rubbed the back of his neck. "Hi my name is Raphael. I am the Angel of Healing. You must be my brother's granddaughter."
"Please to meet you Raphael." I bowed my head. "Aye I am Aiyana, granddaughter of Azrael. This is my heritage Dangelo." Wait isn't this Gwyn's teacher. "Aren't you Gwyn's mentor?"
"Aye I am." Raphael smiled.
"Cool." I looked around, Dangelo's wings started to loosen but not much. "So where's this Metatron person?"
"He's hiding. I honestly don't know why. He's been watching you grow up for a while now. You're practically his daughter." Raphael laughed. "Metatron come on out. You're scaring the poor girl."
"Alright." Metatron whined. Who knew angels could whine? Soon enough a tall blonde man, who looked to be in his late twenties, appeared next to Raphael.
"Took ya long enough." Raphael smirked at Metatron. Metatron rolled his blue eyes as he crossed his arms across his muscular chest. What is it with angels being well sculpted? "As you can see this is Metatron, the Angel of Life. Brother to Azrael as well."
"So I have two uncles? Cool." I smiled to myself. "It's a pleasure to meet you." Metatron nodded in agreement. "I don't mean to be rude but why am I here?"
"We see that your trying to revive Alaster, your using magic. We know you mean well but that won't help your situation." Raphael explained.
"Are you telling me to give up?" I growled. "I won't give up. He is one of my only friends since I got to the pack and I won't let one rogue snuffle out his existence. Even if you send me back, I'll keep trying. Either you two help me out or not."
"Woah! No need to tear off our heads. We know you won't stop. So we are here to help?" Metatron smiled sweetly.
"Good you could help me." My heart had hope.
"We can but we cannot interfere." Metatron corrected.
"So how are you to going to help?" I asked.
"We can give you our gifts of healing and life." Raphael said. "Your feathers will change once you inherit our gifts."
"But be warned if you resurrect Alaster, a piece of your soul will be torn out of you and into him. Your piece will help call back his. Once his soul is back, it merges with yours. It seems an okay deal but whatever you feel, he will whether it be physical, mental or emotional. And it is the same for you. But in time you'll be able to block certain things out. Knowing all this do you still agree for your gifts?" Metatron warned.
"I think we can make it work. I agree upon my gifts. Please help me save my friend." I stood proudly before them. They both nodded and beckoned Dangelo forward. He was a little hesitant but he let go of me and went in front of them. Raphael was the first to approach Dangelo. He gently touched Dangelo's wings mumbling something. A glow pooled over Dangelo's wings. I watched in awe as the glow turned from a white to a gold. Moments after Raphael stopped chanting, the glow dulled and what remained was beautiful. Dangelo's wings were still black but his tips were at least four inches white and had tiny golden upside down fleur de lis on each feather. Raphael bowed his head to Dangelo and backed away as Metatron came forward. Metatron followed the same movements as Raphael but his glow was an emerald green. After his chanting stopped, little studded emeralds in the middle of each fleur de lis were left behind. He bowed his head to Dangelo and stood next to Raphael.
"Your gifts have been received. Use them wisely and don't let these powers fall into the wrong hands." Raphael spoke softly.
"I promise." I crossed my heart. They nodded before darkness took over me.
****
"Aiyana!" I heard someone scream my name. "Aiyana!" It sounded like there was more. I slowly opened my eyes, my vision adjusting. I saw flesh when I opened my eyes. I picked up my head and looked down. I was laying on Alaster's chest. A blush of embarrassment flushed onto my cheeks. I backed away slowly. A coat was gently placed over my shoulders. I glanced up to find Seth beside me.
"Thank you." I said in a whisper. I wiped my eyes as I stared at Alaster's body. Suddenly everything that just happened moments before came back into my mind. I bit my lip. "I need this off for a second."
Seth nodded as he took off the jacket. My mates as well as the pack gathered around to see Alaster. Cleo was next to Quin and Caelan while my grandparents stood behind them. So everyone was here. Taking a deep breath I concentrated.
Ready Danny?
Ready. He smiled.
My wings sprouted from my back, it hurt for a moment but that quickly subsided. Gasps came from the crowd. Gwyn and Azrael pushed towards the front.
"I don't remember those colors being on your wings?" Azrael looked them over.
Gwyn gently stroked my feathers. "I know this handcraft anywhere." He pointed to the white and gold. "Raphael was here but I can't tell who is the green."
"I know." A smile crept to Azrael's face. "So he finally decided to have an apprentice? Metatron you are funny."
"We'll discuss this later. Right now, I have a friend to save." A smile plastered itself on my face. I turned to Alaster. I placed my right hand onto my chest. I concentrated a bit and my body started to move on its own before I started to pull my hand away from myself. A small sting erupted throughout my body, a probable indication that it was my soul. A tiny little orb stuck onto my fingers as I went to place it over Alaster's body. The orb fell from my fingers and landed where his heart would be. Ripples went through his body as it hit and descended. At each fingertip a small glow formed. I placed each finger around his heart, the glowing increasing. In a quick motion I pushed down, the glow surrounded his heart before spreading throughout his body. I backed up a few feet as Alaster's body started to levitate in front of me. His body came forward so he looked like he was standing. His eyes were still closed. I got to my feet and walked up to him. Placing a hand to his cheek, I smiled and kissed his forehead.
"Please come back Alaster." I whispered in his ear. Then I backed away as a light casted down upon him. The light beam shifted into a ball of light and stopped right in front of his glowing body. I took the orb in my hands, then pushed it into his body. Once the orb was in place, I placed he jacket back on me before the light vanished and his body fell from the air. I caught him in my arms, holding him gently. His cold skin slowly started to warm and color came back onto his cheeks. A heartbeat rung through my ears as his chest began to rise and fall.
Alaster wake up you idiot. His wolf growled. I mentally gasped at this. How was I able to hear Victor?
It's probably because you shared a piece of your soul and it entwined together. Tiana stated while scratching her ear.
True.
Who's there? Victor growled.
I'm Aiyana and my wolf Tiana. I have shared a piece of my soul to bring you and Alaster back from the world of the undead. You have a second chance to live, take care of Jake, Cleo, your future pups and the pack.
You've brought us back? Victor asked.
Yes. I have brought both of you back.
Thank you Luna. Victor cried.
Thank you Aiyana. Alaster said faintly.
No need to thank me. I blushed. I may have granted you life but it cost us both a little.
What do you mean? They both asked confused.
I have gave you a fraction of my soul to help revive you. By doing so, our souls are entwined. From what I gather from the people who allowed this to happen, we both feel each other's pain whether it be emotional, physical or mental. They said over time we'd be able to block it out. I hope you guys aren't to mad at me. We just couldn't live without you. I admitted, tears trailing down my cheeks.
It's alright, we are not mad. We thank you for doing this. We weren't ready to leave this world yet. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. They spoke with compassion. Let's just not tell Cleo or Sasha this.
Well at least not in extreme detail. I smirked. Now come on wake up. Everyone is waiting.
I stared down at Alaster's body. His eyelids started to flutter open and before long his green eyes were staring back at me. I smiled at him as I slowly set him down on his feet.
"Welcome back to the world of the living." I said while I held him up straight.
"It's good to be back." Alaster chuckled. His cheeks then turned red. He was staring at me. "Uh Luna." He pointed while looking up at the sky. I looked down and shrieked when I realized that the jacket wasn't properly closed. I slammed the jacket closed as I called for someone to bring some clothes for the both of us. Everyone except two people stayed in place, shocked as hell. Cleo and Jake slowly walked up to Alaster. Tears were streaming down her face.
"Ali is it really you?" She asked while gently placing her hand to his cheek.
"I'm back Cleo." He smiled as he clasped her hand with his, treasuring this moment.
"Here Luna." Luka said while handing me some clothes for Alaster and I. I nodded my thanks.
"You have done well Luka." I softly smiled.
"Thank you Luna." Luka smiled back and bowed before retreating. I handed a set of clothes for him as my mates gathered around me with their back to me so I could change. Once changed, I found out that I was wearing boy clothes, which I didn't mind. What's even better is that this one had holes for my wings.
"Bring our injured to me." I shouted to everyone. They all nodded and disappeared in different directions. I sighed with relief as I sat down on the ground. I rolled my shoulders one at a time, hoping to relieve them of some of the stiffness. My mates as well as my closest friends sat in front of me, staring at my wings. "What?"
"Your wings are beautiful." They said in unison.
"So how'd you do it?" Caelan asked while looking at Alaster.
"I was blessed with the gift of life from Metatron, the Angel of Life." I said bluntly as the first injured was placed before me. This warrior had suffered a long gash across the chest, deep and will kill him if I don't fix him. My wings stretched out a bit as my body was naturally running itself again. My hands glowed as I put them over his chest. His skin started to sew back together. Once he was all back together the pack doctor took him. I repeated this process for each injured pack member. "Who would do this?" I asked myself as I worked on the last member.
"I would." A male voice came out of no where.**Oh My Gods! Alaster is okay!!!!! What did you guys think? A little mean? And what is up with Roaul? It was also good to see that Kano accepted Loki! And I wonder who is this mystery person is? Try to take a guess. Please tell me what you thought.
