**Picture of Alaster only picture him with gray hair and green eyes.**

It has been three days since I have moved into this new pack. I have successfully learned English, though some words would catch me off. I was slowly learning pack life in a shifter community. It actually wasn't that much different from a regular pack so I learned fairly fast. It was the building structures, our legends, history and laws that I needed to be taught. I have been taught by Cleo and Sage most of the time. Once in a while Alaster would come in and teach me a few things. I really haven't seen much of Caelan since he lectured Cleo about spending money but he said it would slid since he had a lot.

I've learned the currency here and how much each was worth. I've also learned who had what roles in the pack. I already knew the Beta and Alpha but I never expected Cleo to be a scout and a warrior. She was so cool. I could only wish I was cool as her. Cleo taught me how to read and write the first day, it was tough but I managed. Today's lesson was about mates and the Alpha and Luna. Then onto a cooking class. Yay!!!

"Aiyana you ready yet." I heard Cleo bellow beside my window.

"Not yet. Give me a minute." I yelled back. I already put on my undergarments now it just let the outer appearance. I decided do go with a light yellow sundress with matching sandals. I grabbed my notebook and pen and ran out of my room. I turned my attention to Caelan's office door.

Does he ever leave that office? Maybe I'll cook him something. I thought. I closed the door behind me. Cleo and Alaster waited for me on the front porch.

"You look cute in yellow." Cleo smiled at me.

"Thank you." I blushed at her compliment.

"You do look good in yellow." Alaster blushed while rubbing the back of his neck.

"Thank you." I smiled. "Now are you guys going to teach me about mates and the Alpha and Luna or we going to keep gawking?"

"Alright." They both laughed as they took me to our special spot. It was underneath a cherry blossom tree that the Alpha planted last year, of course almost fully grown. It was in bloom too. Alaster put out our picnic blanket and motioned us to sit down. I sat in my spot, cuddled up next to the tree.

"You ready?" Alaster asked. I flipped open my notebook to a clean page, which was half way through by now. I nodded. So far my handwriting was only chicken scratch but it was readable. "Okay. On to the topics of mates. Mates, as you know first-hand from being in a regular pack, are your other half, your soul mate. They are your one and only. There have been rare cases where some werewolves take on a mate after theirs have passed. The way one finds their mate is either have matching birthmarks or when you touch each other you feel like a spark flow through your body, and you forever want each other's company." I remembered a similar spark when I slapped Caelan. "You can go for a week without each other but it will be very lonely and it can sometimes cause extreme pain. Sometimes a werewolf will lose their mate, some do live, and some don't. It all depends on their will. All in all, once you find each other you'll be together forever.

"As for the Alpha, they are born with the power over the pack. They live and breathe to protect their pack. They also have a birthmark and a mate. Their mate is known as the Luna. The Luna's role in the pack is to give strength, hope and courage. She may be present in fights but everyone would prefer her out of harm's way."

"Well that's not fair." I interrupted. "Why should the Luna have to butt out? She deserves to fight like every other member of the pack. If she is the Alpha's mate, she has the power to protect the pack."
