-Natsu P.O.V-
There was a sudden knock at my door. I cleared out my throat, then told them they could enter. Spetto creeped inside, a gloomy look on her face.
"Nastu..." She muttered. "She's gone."
My eyes widened, immediately understanding what she meant. "Get a carriage ready!" I said sternly.
"Yes, of course," she replied, taking off. I hurried down the hallways, planning to leave as soon as possible. I opened the front door to exit-
And froze.
Gray stood in the doorway, staring at me with cold eyes.
"G-Gray?" I muttered, shocked. Gray lowered his head, so the top half of his face became a shadow. He clenched both fists by his side.
"Y-You bastard..." He whispered. He suddenly punched me across the face, sending my flying.
"Sir!" A maid cried, running to my side.
"I'm fine. Please don't get involved in this," I replied, gesturing for her to leave.
"You're so selfish, you know that?" Gray said, walking towards me. "Hiding here for twelve years...pathetic." He kicked me directly in the stomach, causing me to cough out blood.
"Every day we came...and every day you turned us down. In the end, you didn't even answer the door..." He continued to punch me, while I willingly took every hit. "Do you think we weren't suffering?! Do you think we didn't care about her?!" Gray's face was filled with rage, as tears appeared in the corner of his eyes. "Lucy was family to us! She saved our lives! And you expected us to just forget about her? While you sit here alone, acting like the grief stricken father that everyone feels sorry for!" Gray lowered his fists, as he sunk to his knees. "You're not the only one...who's suffering..."
"Gray..." I muttered. Tears began streaming down my face, as I stared at Gray on his knees. I covered my face with my hands in shame.
"I'm...sorry..."
"Tsk. That's the worst apology I've ever heard." Gray stood up, and brushed himself down. "We've got your daughter by the way. She's safe with us. You can come and get her, but ask yourself this: When Lucy asked you to protect her, is locking her up what she meant?" Gray turned around, and began to leave again.
"Come when your ready to apologise. To them." He ripped off a piece of his shirt, revealing his fairy tail insignia.
"Fairy tail..." I muttered, behind my tears.-Nashi P.O.V-
"Nashi, I think there's some things I have to explain," Erza said. She moaned, and stood up. She then held her hand out to me, and smiled. "Come on. This is gonna be a long chat."
I inhaled, and let her help me up. I followed her as she made her way up the stairs, and took a seat in a shaded corner:
"Right..." Erza said, as I sat down next to her.
"Let's start with your mother. What did your dad tell you about her?"
"When I was little, he told me stories about her being an angel and having to return to heaven. Of course, as I grew up I learnt that they weren't true, but I guess I just never asked for the truth. I guess...I thought it would hurt him too much."
Erza sighed, and shook her head.
"Nashi...you could say that those stories were partly true."
I stared at her, confused, and then laughed a little.
"Erza, you can't be-" I stopped, seeing her expression. She was completely serious. My eyes widened, unable to believe what she was saying. Erza took my hands, and held them tightly.
"Nashi, your mother wasn't human. Your not human."
I pulled my hands away from her, scared.
"N-No...that's not true..." I muttered.
"Your mother's hair and eyes turned gold when her power was awakened. For some reason, you didn't change. Your father took this as a sign of hope- that maybe he could still save you...from the thing that killed your mother."
I stared at her, petrified.
"Your father kept you inside the house because he was afraid of losing you. Don't take it out on him."
"B-But now I'm here...what's going to happen to me? Am I going to die?" I said worriedly. Erza suddenly stepped forward, and pulled me close to her chest in an embrace. I froze, shocked, as she stroked my fuchsia hair.
"I'm not gonna let you die. Not you, too..." She muttered. I could sense the pain in her voice.
She suddenly let go of me, an awkward expression on her face.
"I-I'm sorry..." She said. I laughed, and smiled at her.
"Thank you, Erza," I said. She looked surprised at me, but then smiled back.
"Anyway, about your mother. Do you know about the demons from the books of Zeref?"
"Yeah, I read about those once..."
"Well, your mother was similar to that. There were two races created by the books of G.O.D.
Your mother's, Angels, and then...demons. A demon from the books of G.O.D who called himself Lucifer, struck Lucy, and doing so awakened her power. Since Lucy had such a large amount of angelic power, it had to be used up. Lucifer took care of this without us realising, as he would constantly fight Lucy, pretending to be the enemy."
"W-Wow, this is a lot to take in..." I muttered, rubbing the back of my neck.
"You think it's tough now? I had to figure this out while it was happening," Erza replied, laughing. Then, she continued.
"Now, let's talk about Angelus."
"Angelus..." I muttered. "That doesn't sound good."
"That..." Erza said, with a sigh. "Is what killed your mother."
My eyes began to fill with tears "W-What killed my mother?..."
"Nashi, if you're not careful, you'll have the same fate. You need to listen to me, ok?" Erza said, staring at me with concerned eyes. I nodded, sniffing.
"Angelus is the term used for Angels who have reached full power. When they do so, however...they lose control of them self. Your mother lost control, and to save us from the terrifying power she'd possessed, she...killed herself."
I gasped, the horror of the words hurting me inside.
"Lucy and Lucifer were the only remainders of the books of G.O.D. That is, until she gave birth to you."
I shook my head in disbelief, and stood up.
"N-No..." I whispered. Tears began to stream down my cheeks, as I hurried down the stairs. I covered my eyes as I fled the guild, ignoring the stares I was getting.
"N-Nashi! Wait!" I heard Erza cry after me. I burst through the doors, and didn't stop running. Before I knew it, I was in the forest. I slowed down, and dropped to my knees.
"W-Why..." I muttered, sobbing. I looked ahead of me, and noticed something out of place in the leaves. I quickly moved all the moss and dry mud aside, to reveal an extremely old and dirty pair of heels. My eyes widened, as their appearance triggered a memory in my head.
Me and mom were walking through the forest, and her heels got stuck in the mud. She took them off, and placed her bare feet in the cold, wet dirt.
"Gross!" I said, laughing.
"M-Mom..." I whispered, tears streaming down my cheeks. I covered my face in my hands, and cried hysterically. "I want you back, Mom..."
I suddenly felt arms wrap around me. I gasped and turned round, to see Jack smiling at me.
"J-Jack?" I muttered, confused.
"Hey. Don't get so worked up. Your mom was a hero."
"Yeah, but she had to kill herself-"
"Don't keep saying it. I don't wanna see you cry anymore."
I stared up at him, then buried myself in his chest.
"What if I die as well..."
"You're not dying if I'm around," Jack replied, stroking my hair. I grabbed onto Jack's shoulders, and stared directly into his eyes, my face full of distress.
"Please...don't let me make the same mistakes she did."
Jack nodded quickly, as my hands slid down his shoulders to his elbows.
"Y-Yeah, sure," he muttered, gripping onto my arms tightly.-Natsu P.O.V-
"Look after the house for me," I told Spetto, as I placed a thick coat on my shoulders.
"Natsu...what are you going to do?" She muttered. I stopped and faced her, my face grave.
"I'm have to apologise. To everyone."-Nashi P.O.V-
"It's going to rain," I muttered, as me and Jack walked back to fairy tail together.
"What?" He asked. However, I didn't need to reply. The sky slowly grew dark, followed by thick drops of rain splashing down.
"Wow, you'd you do that?" He said, amazed.
I shrugged, laughing. "I've just always been able to tell."
"That's really cool, you know that?"
"You think so?" I asked. He nodded, grinning at me. We arrived at fairy tail, and was immediately greeted by a blue flying cat.
"Nashi!" He cried excitedly. He flew into my chest in an attempt to hug me, but I slapped him away in self defence.
"Your fault for being such an idiot, cat," Jack snickered, laughing.
"Ow..." The cat muttered, rubbing the cheek I'd slapped.
"I-I'm sorry..." I said, embarrassed. The cat suddenly smiled, seeing my face again.
"Nashi, you're here!" He repeated, hugging me. "Erza told me you'd come back when you were gone."
"Um, do I know you?" I asked, awkwardly standing as his arms were wrapped around my waist. "And wait...WHY ARE YOU TALKING?!"
"Happy's an exceed, like me." I turned to where the voice was coming from, to see another white cat calmly sitting on the edge of a table.
"Since when was this place full of talking cats?!" I asked, looking around.
"My name's Happy. Me and your dad were friends," the blue cat said.
"Dad seems to be friends with everyone here..." I muttered.
"Yeah, he was awesome!" Happy said, laughing. I got out the picture of my dad and mom together, and stared at it once again. Happy leaned over my shoulder, and gave a sad smile.
"I remember when we'd go on jobs together," he said, sighing. "We would have so much fun."
"Was my mother a nice person?" I asked, admiring the photo. Happy nodded slowly.
"Aye..." He muttered.
There a sudden knock at the door. Before anyone answered it, both doors were thrown open. I stared wide eyed at the person behind them.
"D-Dad?!"
