Just gonna dedicate this chapter to NyxAbsol for making a book cover for this sequel as well! Even though I no longer use her cover for this sequel, she is seriously a really good cover maker and she gets covers done really fast despite how many requests she gets. I definitely recommend her if any of you guys are writing your own fanfics! Xx
Ok, here's Chapter 13:-Jack P.O.V-
"Hey Nashi, what you thinking about?" I asked, as Nashi stared into space in the guild hall.
"Nothing much," she replied, not even glancing at me. I sighed, bored.
"I'm going out," she said out of no where.
"Well then I'm coming," I added, getting out of my seat.
"No, you're staying here. I don't need a bodyguard," she ordered. I was tempted to argue back, but she was right. She needed her own space. I watched as she selected a job (which I hoped she was smart enough to pick a reasonable one), and made her way to the door.-Nashi P.O.V-
"Also...don't tell dad," I muttered, just before I left. Jack nodded back, laughing slightly.
I breathed out heavily as I exited the guild. It felt like there was something I needed to be doing, or somewhere I needed to be. Maybe I was just worried about Tristan.
I read the job request, which was only helping out with cooking at an old lady's house. The pay was small, but it sounded fun.
The house was a cute little cottage west of Magnolia, so I immediately began walking there. When I arrived, the house was on a hill. I made my way up, and knocked on the door. Shortly after, a very old lady answered, who was about the same height as the Master.
"Well hello dear!" She said cheerfully.
"Good morning! I'm here for a request you sent out?" I replied, showing her the job request. Her face lit up as she spotted the slip.
"Oh yes! I have so many guests coming, and my granddaughter promised she'd help out. But she cancelled last minute, and I was planning to cook so much..."
"Leave it to me," I said, entering her home.Of course, there were always cooks that served us at home. But there were times when the maids would let me help out in the kitchen when I had nothing to do. So luckily, I knew the basics.
"So...what are we cooking?" I asked, getting the basics supplies out.
"A beef stew with different side dishes," she replied, beaming at me. My face went blank.
"I-I can't cook beef..." I muttered, embarrassed. The woman only laughed back.
"It's fine, dear. You focus on the sides and I'll cook the stew," she instructed. I exhaled, relieved.
"Sorry..." I apologised awkwardly. After the dinner was busy cooking, I asked the woman (who I'd found out was called Ena) if I could get some fresh air. She invited me to see her garden, which was extremely beautiful. Roses filled the edges, and small pebble paths led to a swing that hung from a cherry tree. I sat on the swing and swung slowly back and forth as I entered my thoughts.
"Nashi, dear! Are you okay?" Ena called out from the back door. I turned to face her, and nodded.
"Yeah, I'll be there in just-" I suddenly felt a pin in the back of my neck. Out of impulse, my hand reached for my neck and checked if there was anything there. When it was clear, I rubbed it for comfort.
"Nashi?" Ena repeated.
"Just hurt my neck a bit, that's all," I shouted back. I stood up, and headed back inside."I better be off then," I said, leaving through the door.
"D-Don't you want your payments?" Ena asked, surprised.
"Helping out was my reward," I replied, smiling. She looked at me in confusing for a short second, then started laughing.
"If only there were more kids like you," She said. Then she waved goodbye, and I returned it then left.As I was making my way back to fairy tail, I started getting a headache.
Man, my head hurts...
I entered through the fairy tail doors, to see Jack sitting exactly where he'd been this morning.
"Jack, its been two hours...have you seriously got nothing to do?" I asked, taking a seat.
"I've been waiting for you," he replied, grinning childishly.
"You're lazy, that's what," I said.
"Well, now you're here, do you-" his voice suddenly went muffled, like someone had put earmuffs over my ears.
"W-What?" I asked, holding my hand to my ear.
"Nashi, are-" then my vision started to go. My eyes were going in and out of focus, so much that I couldn't see what I was doing. I stood up, which was a bad idea, because I couldn't see a thing, and my legs started feeling weak.
