-Nastu P.O.V-
"Okay, one more time!" I shouted. I raised my fist, then threw it against the wall. And surprisingly, it made a small hole.
"YES!" I screamed, grinning. "After...twenty minutes...I'm finally inside."-Ryo P.O.V-
All the staff was gathered inside the throne room. Nashi's body had been raised in the air by chains, as we waited for Kireina to wake up.
"When will she wake up?" Tristan asked eagerly.
"I'm not quite sure," I replied. "It shouldn't be long."
"Couldn't we just wake her up?" A random member of staff suggested. I laughed, then shook my head. "You want to wake a god up? I'm pretty sure she wouldn't be happy with that."
The man instantly went quiet. Just as I was about to strike a conversation, I heard the shackles move. Other people in the room gasped, clearly hearing the sound as well.
"Do you think-?" Tristan whispered, not taking his eyes off of Kireina.
"Yeah," I muttered back. "Any second now."-Erza P.O.V-
"The train found a shortcut," I explained to the others while I stuck my head out the window. "We should get there in about ten minutes!"
"Really?!" Jack said, getting out of his seat.
"Now we can hopefully stop Natsu from doing something stupid," Gray muttered. The train stopped in the middle of the tracks.
"The driver said this is closest to where we need to go. If we were to get off at the station it would take longer to walk," I told everyone.
"Wow, this driver guy's really helping us out," Jack said, preparing to leave the train.
"Well, I may have done some bargaining..." I muttered, scratching my head.
"Yeah- I don't wanna hear about that. Let's go before this journey gets anymore unbearable," Gray said, as he jumped off.We shortly after arrived at yet another giant fortress.
"Seriously, I wanna know where they're getting these things!" Jack said, annoyed. "It's kind of ridiculous."
"That doesn't matter now. Let's just find a way in," I ordered. After scouting the walls for a couple of minutes, we came across a hole in one of the walls.
"Gonna guess this is from Natsu..." Gray said.
"Well let's meet up with him then!" Jack added, lightening the mood. He hopped inside and charged ahead.
"J-Jack! Don't run off like that..." Gray called out after him, while running in. I smiled as I watch them both enter, with no fear.-Natsu P.O.V-
I could hear it. So much that I stopped in my tracks. It was the sound...of my baby crying.
But it wasn't normal noise; it sounded like it was inside my head, echoey and quiet. No, it wasn't inside my head- it was inside her's.
She was inside her's.
Then it disappeared, like a child being silenced.
I listened, waited, but nothing came.
...
"Natsu!"
I turned round to see Erza, Gray and Jack running towards me.
"Have you just been standing here doing nothing?" Gray asked.
"W-What?" I muttered, surprised to see them. I looked down at my feet.
How long have I been standing here?
"Nashi's this way," I explained, shaking myself out of my thoughts. "Let's go."We were all running down the corridor in silence.
Please...lets us make it...
"Natsu..." Erza muttered. "We're already late."
"Don't say that. Just- just..." I wanted to convince myself, but I knew Erza was right. However, sometimes the truth is just too harsh on yourself. "But I love her," I whisper, because that should be enough.-Ryo P.O.V-
Just as we were waiting, we heard footsteps. I turned round, to see members of fairy tail running in. I recognised them, because the man that was with Nashi was there.
Thank god, they got the letter.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Tristan shouted, annoyed.
"What the hell have you-" the one with pink hair stopped mid sentence, after seeing Kireina suspended in the air. Then his face slowly filled with rage.
"It's already completed, you idiot," Tristan explained. "Well, it's not like you could've stopped it even if you were here."
"A-Are you telling me..." He muttered, staring wide eyed. "She's gone?"
I inhaled, knowing I was going to regret what I was about to do. But I couldn't stay in the wrong any longer.
"We can still get Nashi back! She's still in there somewhere!" I shouted out to them. Tristan turned to face me, confused.
"Ryo! What are you-"
"I can't do this anymore, Tristan. This is wrong," I told him. "I'm sorry." I turned, without looking back, and walked over to fairy tail. "I'm Ryo," I said. "I'm guessing you got the letter?"
"Oh, so you're Ryo?" The man with black hair asked. I nodded in return. The woman stepped forward, smiling.
"Thank you. For everything you've done for us," she said. If there was anything I deserved in this world, it certainly wasn't gratitude.
"Please, don't thank me...I'm the one who did that," I replied, gesturing to Kireina. "I'm responsible..."
"It wasn't your fault," the woman said. I hadn't even realised- she was right in front of me.
"I...was afraid..." I whispered. Suddenly, she pulled me into a warm hug. Tears streamed down my face as I returned it.
"But look how strong you are now," she muttered. "You just stood up to the one you've been afraid of for so long."
She was right- I had just left Tristan, speechless. And I was god damn happy about it. I let go of the woman, and they all introduced themselves.
"I'm Natsu. Her dad."
"I'm Jack, the one you met at Nashi's house."
"I'm Erza. Nice to meet you, Ryo."
"I'm Gray, Jack's Dad."
"Ryo! What the hell is wrong with you? I trusted you!" I heard Tristan shout. I faced him directly, glaring.
"You're a damn monster, that's what you are! All those Angels you injected into her, how do you think they feel? And Nashi, that poor girl...when Kireina wakes up, the whole world is going to change! Oh hell, she could destroy it if she wanted to!" I shouted back.
"Ryo, when you injected the souls into her..." Natsu muttered. "Was there one named-"
"Lucy? Don't worry, I saved her blood. She's not inside of Nashi," I replied. I retrieved the syringe filled with Lucy's blood from my pocket and showed it to him. Instantly, he knew what it was.
"Lucy..." He whispered. I placed it in his hands. "Her soul is still alive, Natsu. She's in here," I said. Natsu looked down at it, his hands trembling. Then he gripped onto it tightly.
Just as we were about to move forward, we heard Kireina move.
"Is she..." Gray said quietly. I glanced up at Kireina, and held my breath. She moved again.
"Yeah," I muttered back. "It's time."
