Later that evening, after dinner had been eaten and sleeping arrangements had been sorted, Natasha made her way to the roof of the apartment.

She sat there alone for a while remembering how she had lost James here.

Natasha still wasn't sure how she had let it happen.

How had she not found him?

It didn't matter now.

What had happened, happened, but there wasn't a day she didn't think about losing James in this very place.

She was surprised when she saw James step on to the roof.

She had assumed he was asleep.

"Hey", he said quietly as he sat next to her.

"Hi", she replied, smiling softly.

They were quite for a while after that until James spoke.

"Something happened here, didn't it?" He asked.

Natasha looked at him before nodding.

"This is where I lost you", she said quietly.

James nodded and there was another few moments of quiet.

"Can you tell me about it?" He asked.

Natasha smiled before beginning to tell the story.

"We were up here having a picnic", she begun.

Natasha told James how have had given her the red-star necklace and how there had been men shooting at them from the building opposite.

She went on to tell James about him pushing her into the dumpster.

"I pushed you into a bin!" He asked sounding shocked.

Natasha laughed and nodded.

"Yea, it sounds stupid now, but it was all very romantic and dramatic at the time", she joked.

James smiled.

Natasha then told him about the group of men who took him, leaving no trace.

"I looked everywhere for you, for years", she whispered.

James looked at the red head next to him.

"I'll get my memories back soon Natalia, I'm sure", he said quietly.

Natasha shook her head.

"I don't need your memories, I just need you", she said softly.

James smiled.

He carefully reached out and placed his hand under Natasha's chin, pulling her towards him.

He kissed her then, slowly and gently.
