Chapter 10 Lucy's(POV) Me and ace got down to the bottom of the stairs, but the tower gate slammed down. We were already surround my guards by then. Zeref was on his way down the steps. There was no way I could win this. "If you want the boy and you to live Lucy, stop what you're doing." Zeref said. I calmed down and realized I not only had my life on my hands, but also the young boys. I turned back to my original form and by the time I let the guards grab me I felt someone knock me out. I woke up hours later, in a different room. It was dark and cold. Ace was standing up next to me. "I'll let you have your time with him for a few minutes." Zeref said and walked out. "What does he mean?" I asked Ace. He frowned. "I'm getting ready to leave this world." He said. My eyes widened. "Wait, no. Zeref promised! I'll keep you safe." I said wrapping my arms around him. He put his hand on my cheek. "It's alright Lucy...this isn't your fault. It was going to happen sooner or later. Don't worry about someone you just met..." He said. Tears rolled down my cheeks. "Make me a promise... Protect the future." He said with a smile. I grabbed his hand. "You're not going to die. I'll make them take me instead! I promised I would protect you. You're just a child!" I screamed. "You can't give up your life. If you die, there would be no point. You can't win against Zeref. Promise me." Ace said starting to cry. "Please, please Zeref take my place." I yelled loud enough hoping he would hear. Ace shook me. "Say it!" He screamed back. "Ok! I promise! I'll protect it!" I said. The boy smiled. "Geez...you sound just like my friend Natsu...the one that is coming to look for me. Please let me save you. Please." I said. Zeref and his men came in the doors and picked him up. I rushed over to Zeref. I tired aiming for a punchZ "you liar! Scumbag!" I said. He picked me up my my throat. I couldn't breath. "Zeref, let her go. It's my last wish." He said. For some reason Zeref listened. I cried and tried getting to him, but the two guards stopped me. "No!" I screamed. Ace smiled. "Yeah, I guess I do sound just like my father. If you die here, then I will never exist. I'm glad I got to see you one last time. Say hey to dad, mom." Ace said. My mind couldn't process the thought fast enough. I fell to my knees as a million thoughts rushed through my mind. Ace was from the future...how did he get here...he's Mine and Natsus future son. If we live that is....no. Wait my son! "Stop! Please." I screamed. I flung myself at the iron doors. The room fell silent Zeref had already left. The world seemed to stop for a minute. The last thing I heard was the swinging of the blade in the air. My heart stopped and I sunk down to the floor. Ace...was my son. My future son with...natsu...died before I even knew who he was. I couldn't protect the boy age of 6, but with a mind like an adult...
