Cheryls POV

"Um... hi." *Um hi* What the *Duck*, Cheryl! Get your head together! Try again.

"Umm... sorry if I startled you. I didn't know anyone was out here." I rise up awkwardly and rub me neck. I can feel a
smile forming. A goofy smile. She's still looking at us. She looks so good...

"It's alright. It was just unexpected. I was just a little startled."

Wow. Her voice is so lovely. She must be from North. I liked it. I liked it, a lot. I wanted to hear more...

"So why are you out here, anyway? You don't usually sit here dur-..."

Now her eyes are curious. BIG. sh!t, Cheryl. You're such a dumb arse...

"I mean. People usually hang out in the cafeteria at break time."

She's still looking at us. Is she trying to read me thoughts. Is it really even possible for someone to mind-read? God
help us.

"Yeah I usually do, but... I just, I wanted to get away from... distractions."

She looked away. I blew it. I shouldn't be here. I'm gonna go. Then she spoke again.

"... Are you, ok? You seem annoyed at something? I can go-"

"NO! I mean. No. You don't have to leave. I was the one that spoiled the party."

Another neck rub and another chin scratch and another goofy smile... I hate me life. *Ducking* hell. I can't look at her
like this, all goofy and sh!t. Where can I look? Me eyes dart along the ground, jumping everywhere, searching for
something.

Then I saw her bag at her feet..and what's that? A magazine? She must've been reading it when I made me amazing "entrance" outside and dropped it when I scared her senseless. Smooth Cheryl. Really smooth.

I bent down to pick it up. A music magazine? My curiosity rose. It's a magazine for musicians! Is that what you do in
your spare time? Do you sing? Do you play an instrument? I looked at it intently, trying to somehow soak up whatever it was that she was reading before.

I wiped off the dust it had on the cover on me jeans and handed it back to her. Her eyes seemed bluer and bigger than I've ever seen them. She must be getting annoyed now. Maybe I've over-stepped the boundary?

"...Thanks," She spoke softly and took it from us quickly and stuffed it into her bag. "So, you like music," I blurted
out. Jesus Cheryl. Can you dig the hole any deeper? Do you need another shovel?  She had a strange look to her now.

Almost like her eyes were sort of smiling. Was she laughing at us with her eyes? No, I must be imagining it...

"RING!"

Bugger. The one time I actually don't want to be reminded of time. Damn that bell. Still cursing the bell and the time, I didn't notice her getting up.

"Well, um. See you around, I guess."

Before I had the chance to say anything, she was gone. She is real quick for a graceful person. My shoulders slouched
and I let out a loud sigh.

"Damn it."

I turned to look at where she was sitting moments before, imagining she was still there. What's that? I picked up the
piece of paper. It was a leaflet, probably some crap that they stuck in the magazine. But wait, this one is different. It's local. It's an ad about a band that's playing at a club that sounds vaguely familiar to us, happening this weekend.

'Don't forget,Kay!' was written on it, along with three little hearts. Kay? I wonder who Kay is? Did she write it for
this Kay guy... what's with the hearts? I was suddenly feeling jealous of this 'Kay' character. Very jealous.  I folded the flyer neatly and stuck it in me pocket. Maybe she'll be there too? I guess there's only one way to be sure.
