Cheryl's POV
I let out a long groan as I turned over trying to cut out the beeping sound. Me head was aching. Slapping blindly at the
side table I eventually found the little beeping monster and pulled the cord from the wall. Silence... I killed the monster. I laughed at meself as I stretched out on me bed.
"Mmmm" was followed by "ARGH!"
A shot of pain rushed through me arm and into me hand, which was now throbbing. I cringed loudly as sat up and
inspected the damage. It was bandaged up quite well, almost half way up me forearm. I stared at it for a while, still
half asleep, trying to remember how it got like that. I heard some one opening me door.
"Good Morning, Cheryl. How are you feeling?"
With that, I looked up towards the door, me eyes were really sensitive, especially, me left one. I held me hand up to it and flinched. I looked at me door again and saw Simon, me step-father. "Um... Hey Simon."
"Do you remember what happened?"
"Pieces..."
He pulled out the chair from me desk as he started revealing what happened the previous night, "You showed up at the emergency room last night with some friends of yours," he said, looking at us for any indication of recognition. Me
eyes went big and me head hurt again. Kimberley. It all cameback in a flash and instantly, I thought about her...
Kimberley. I smiled.
"They said you got caught up in some scrap at a party" He looked at us intently. "What's so amusing, Cheryl?" He
didn't look angry as such, just a little annoyed.
"Um sorry, Simon. I was just trying to remember about what happened, and I do. I told them to take us to the hospital
cause I knew you were working and you fixed us up. Thanks."
He smiled. "You can thank me later, your mother is coming back this afternoon..."
I winced again. Mam. Oh sh!t. How am I gonna explain this to her? Simon looked at us sympathetically, as if he'd just
read me mind. He knew me mam as well as I did and it wasn't going to be pretty.
"She's going to go nuts" I mumbled.
"That's putting it lightly. On the bright side, it's not too serious your hand, that is. You fractured two bones. You'll
need to keep that brace on for a few weeks. I have some antibiotics for you in the kitchen that you need to take after
breakfast."
"Great " I slumped back against me pillow when I abruptly sat up again.
"Did ya tell her? You didn't tell her, did ya?"
"Not yet. I think it would jus' upset her and stress her out unnecessarily"
"Hmph! In other words, you are scared shitless, like I am."
Simon laughed as he got up. "You know what your mother is like when she gets angry." He looked at us caringly.
"Besides, you are always coming home with cuts and bruises. Granted, a lot less now than when you were younger,
but it's sort of 'expected'. I don't think she'll be too upset" He smirked.
"Yeah right..."
I glanced at him, "Hey Simon...Thanks."
