Kimberley's POV

I had to force myself not to stare. I think if I did, I'd do what I did last night and kiss her on the sidewalk in front of her neighbourhood. Not a good idea. Who knew that an old school sweatshirt and some loose fitting running shorts

would look so sexy? She has a nice bum and..

"You have a nice house."

"Oh. Uh, Thanks and thanks for bringing back me car"

"It was nothing"  Each time we spoke, we somehow moved closer. I don't know how it happened. I couldn't feel my

legs move, even though I felt my heart beat like it was going to burst out of my chest. But before I knew it we were

inches a part and...

"HOOT! HOOT!"

Cheryl's POV

I shot up a glance towards the noise of the car and a sudden flash of anger jolted through us. Somehow, I knew it

would be his car. It was big, flashy, Porsche. I must have the worst karma on the planet. Jesus. Today, out of all

Sundays, he decides to show up here. I eyed him suspiciously as he climbed out of that bright yellow eyesore with that

predictable arrogance of his. A wolf whistle followed soon after.

"Damn Cheryl! I like the new face - it suits you." he chided as he removed those ridiculously huge sunglasses

covering his lifeless pale blue eyes to get a better look at us.

"Derek" I answered coldly. "Simon is in the kitchen. I'm sure he is getting his check book ready for your monthly

scrounge."

He just smirked. And then he noticed Kimberley. "Well hello there. You must forgive Cheryl's lack of manners, she's

uncultivated. Quite the savage, as you can see." He gave her an once over, making me grit me teeth. " Cheryl, you have such gorgeous friends.." He actually leered at her, one more punch wouldn't do any more harm to me hand I suppose.

Breathe Cheryl. Just breathe.

"I'm Derek. It certainly is a pleasure to meet someone as beautiful as you are. And you are-" He held her hand out to

Kimberley, who took it in hers a bit hesitantly.

"Annoying - like always." I replied making Sarah giggle.

"I'm Kimberley. Nice to meet you too" There is so need to be nice to that arse Kimba, I sighed.

He paused for a moment before going in, "I think I'm going to stick around for lunch. Joan is due back today, isn't

she? And I assume that she doesn't know anything about this," he continued, motioning towards me hand and face. I

didn't answer him, which only confirmed his guessing. His ugly pale eyes lit up and he let out a loud chuckle.

"Thought so! I'm definitely sticking around for this!" he chided again.

My jaw clenched tight. God how I wish he was in the club last night. I would have enjoyed 'fracturing' more than just

two bones if he was on the receiving end.

"Unfortunately, she has plans," Kimberley spoke unexpectedly, cutting through the tension.

I glanced at her with a raised eyebrow. I was about to speak up when I heard Simon as he made his way towards us. He greeted Kimberley and cunningly made some small-talk with Derek. He left a short while later, taking the greedy arse along with him. I didn't realise I was holding me breath until I started feeling  a little light-headed. I released all me air as I sat down on the curb and felt Kimberley sitting down next to us.

"So, I have plans, huh?" I said with a smirk, probably a goofy one at that. She looked self-conscious and started

messing with the leaves in the ground with the toe of her sneaker. She looked flustered and cute..

"Well. It didn't sound like you to get along. I was just trying to help you out..."

I hummed along in agreement, more to meself though; then I said something that even I was surprised by.

"Do you want to go for a drive?" Her eyes were bright again, she looked surprised. sh!t. Why did I say that? Just tell

her to forget about it. Just tell her it's the medication talking... or the hormones..just say-

"Sure. I'd like that...um, but don't you want to change first?"

"Oh yeah" I said as I scratched the side of me chin, thinking it was the best idea I've ever heard, "That's a good idea!"

She laughed at me creative reply and once again I felt like an idiot- but a happy idiot.
