"Are you for real, Jojo?" Martin asked, "Like legit and for real?"
"Why yes. Yes I am. I'm flat out legit and for real," Jojo said, "I wanna play a prank. It wouldn't be too crazy. Just a funny joke. We should do it on cabin 6. I have my prank kit in my suitcase too."
"Woah woah woah!" I said, "You have a what?"
"A prank kit," Jojo said, her troublemaker smirk expanding.
"So...wait a minute," I started. I came to a slow realization. "That's why you asked if Evelyn was staying with us."
"Yeah, pretty much," Jojo admitted, "What? It wouldn't work if Evelyn was in here!"
"You are the most insane cousin in existence, Johanna Ellis," I declared, "It's a bad idea."
"I agree with Leighanne," Kenny said.
"Same," Martin agreed.
"Why is it a bad idea? Do tell, Leighleigh," Jojo said, narrowing her eyes.
"We could get caught and then we'd get in trouble!" I replied, raising my voice sternly.
"Okay. If we get caught, I'll say that I peer pressured you all into doing it and that you guys weren't involved," Jojo started, "And if we do get caught, you can call me Johanna forever."
"I'm in," Kenny said.
"Count me on the team too," Martin said, "After all, it's just one funny prank. It's not like we are gonna murder someone. It's just an innocent joke! Are you in now, Leighanne?"
I hesitated. What would Courtney do? Would she immediately suspect that I did it? Would she catch us? Would she even find out in the first place?
"I have one condition," I said.
"Name it," Jojo stated.
"Courtney is in cabin 6, remember?" I asked crossly, "If she catches us, deny that I was involved. Get me out of there."
"Fine," Jojo agreed, "Are you in now?"
I hesitated again. Was I sure about this? I should just say no I thought, but I couldn't stop Jojo's troublemaker smirk from creeping across my face. I didn't even try to hide it.
"I'm in," I said.
"Excellent," Jojo said, tapping her fingers together like a movie villan, "I'll get the prank kit." She walked to the girl's bedroom and came back with an orange shoebox.
"What's in it?" I asked sitting down on the ground next to Jojo. We all sat in a circle and put the prank kit in the middle. Jojo opened the box and dumped everything onto the floor.
"We have four cans of silly string, six boxes of pop-its, a bottle of superglue, two cans of shaving cream, toilet paper, a few cans of tuna, and these super sour and super spicy candies. And we have a flashlight," Jojo announced. We all looked over the items.
"I have an idea," Jojo said after a minute or two.
"What is it?" Kenny asked.
"We will start small. Open a couple of boxes of pop-its and put them under their welcome mat and under the logs around their campfire. Then, they will go outside and step on the welcome mat to hear a loud pop. They will all sit on the logs and hear another loud pop!" Jojo cheered, "It's simple, but it's a double surprise!"
"Great," Kenny said.
"It's a plan," Martin said.
"Let's go," I said.
"I like your ethusiasm, Leighleigh," Jojo started, "But first, we have to get ready. Everyone, go change. Put on some dark colored clothing. We will be less likely to be seen. Let's go!"
I practically burst up and ran to our room. I dug through my suitcase and changed into my dark blue pajamas. I slipped my black school hoodie over my head and put on my watch and my lucky bracelet. I then met with everyone else in the living room.
"Before we go, make sure the lights are all turned out. We don't want anyone to know we are awake," Jojo said.
"Our light is off," Martin said. I flicked off the light in the living room/kitchen.
"Now, let's do a quick prayer to the prank gods," Jojo said, looking up.
"Prank gods?" Kenny questioned.
"Yeah. It's just my lucky thing. I pray, asking for them to be on our side whenever I am about to go pull a prank," she explained, "Don't ask." Everyone looked up at the ceiling with her.
"Dear, prank gods," Jojo started, "We pray that you'll be on our side tonight as we pull an epic prank against cabin 6. Leighanne's former best friend who is now her archenemy is there, so don't let her catch us. And please be on our side and keep any other counselor or camper's vision off of us tonight. In your name, we pray. Amen."
"Amen," all of us repeated.
"Alright, team. Let's go! Not another loud sound!" Jojo said in hushed excitement. We all let out whispery cheers and followed Jojo outside.
