"Mike!", I scream after i closed the door behind me.
He turns around. "Yes?"
"Did you kill her?"
Mike opens his mouth, but doesn't reply.

The thought that Mike killed Lacey is ridiculous, but I just need to find out the truth, if its not for me, then it is for Finn. Something tells me that he is innocent, even though all the evidence Mike brought up shows that he must've killed her.

Mike raises his eyebrows, he looks surprised, as he didn't expect me to ask him that, what he probably really didn't.

"Why do you think that?", Mike asks, certainly interested.

Great Berry, come up with a good explanation now. It's not as easy as it sounds, especially when I know that he didn't kill her.

"You hate Finn", I start slowly.

"But I loved Lacey", Mike replies emotionless. "I may hate him, but I could have never killed her, no way. She was way too important to me" He really seems serious about that.

At first I am convinced but then I remember what Finn told me about Lacey.

"But wasn't she known as a not really trustful person? Didn't she always change her relationships pretty soon? Maybe you were scared that she would do the same with you. That she would leave you"

"I loved her!", Mike yells. It looks like he's crying, like all the memories of Lacey bring up all the tears again he held back the past years.

"But Finn loved her too!", I shout.

Mike shakes his head and leans against the wall of the BreadStixx, mumbling things to himself, which I don't understand.

Carefully I walk up to him, laying my hand on his shoulder. He's breathing heavily, as if he tries not to cry. "Go away", he mutters, but it doesn't really sound convincing.

"Did you know that Finn was in the garden?", I ask soft, not judging him anymore for something I know he hasn't done.

Mike seems to fight with himself, as if he has to break down several walls to answer this question.
"Lacey's mom called me, yes. But she didn't say that it was Finn. She said it was some boy she didn't know. Lacey didn't seem to know him too. Her mom said she seemed desperate, the person blamed her for something Lacey obviously didn't do"
Well that changes a lot.
"You said the person looked like Finn, is that also a lie?", I respond, trying not to blame him that he lied to me about the situation with Lacey's mom.
Mike shakes his head, pushing my hand away and bringing distance between us.
He doesn't speak, he just gazes at me.

"You can tell me", I whisper quiet.
Mike suddenly starts laughing, it's the same ugly laugh he used to laugh when he was at me or when I came up with Finn. I hate it when he laughs like that; it gives me chills, but not really in a positive way. It makes me get scared of him, or the person who acts like that. Because I doubt that this is really Mike.

"Well if we're already telling the truth then ... yes it was a lie! I hated Finn for pushing Lacey onto that street that he tried to kill her! I hated Finn for being with her, I hated him for getting Lacey, even though he knew that I loved her! I hated him for being Finn! That he, even though he got himself into so much trouble all the time, still managed to get the girl that I fell for a long time ago!
And so I made up a lie, that would bring him right into jail. Maybe it wasn't the smartest way, there was still a risk that the police would find out, but luckily they didn't believe Finn any word he said.
My mom also believed me, she didn't even want to listen to Finn, it was clear for her that he killed Lacey, after she found out that Lacey kissed me and that Lacey chose me.
You don't understand how happy I was when all this happened. For the first time I wasn't the little brother anymore; my mom cared about me, finally I have to add here, Finn was out of way, everyone hated him, everyone called me a hero. You may wonder now why they called me a hero, but it's easy Berry; if I wouldn't have brought Finn into jail, the killer would have still been free, and no one would have ever found a solution for Lacey's death. And the court found a fast punishment for Finn, which made it easier for Lacey's Family to struggle alone, without being scared about a person who killed Lacey, because this person was in jail.
So yeah, I did lie all the time, I was the one who brought Finn into jail, but I swear to god Rachel;
I. Did. Not. Kill. Lacey."
