Finn Hudson, you are convicted for the murder on Lacey Patricia Johnson on the 20th February 2014. The court decided in this case for a 5 year punishment, a earlier release is possible, based on the behaviour on Mr Hudson. It'll be brung into force from this day on. Thankyou."
The judge nodded and left his place right after he told the audience the punishment.
The audience stayed quiet while they watched him leaving the huge room. You were able to hear the sniffling of her family, even though they tried to keep it as quiet as they could.
He was sitting at his place on which he sat the whole morning, quiet, like everyone else, it was like he didnt even notice what was going on around him
His eyes stared at some point far away, his hands layed on the table. He knew it wasnt fair, he knew that he didnt kill her. Never could he have done something like that. But why would the court care? For them the facts were clear before he could even open his mouth to defend himself and tell them the truth about what really happened in that night. Because if he would have told them they would know now that he wasnt there in that night, that it was someone else who threw the stone at her head.
The lawyer next to him layed a hand on his shoulder, and tried to comfort him. Hes was a friend of the Hudson family and was known as the best lawyer you could find in the US state but obviously he wasnt good enough to convince the court about the truth. Everyone has their own truth though.
'Look, Finn, maybe i can convince the court about a new court hearing so maybe they can put down the punishment.'
Finn shaked his head, and his hands, which were calm before started to shiver like he drank too many energy drinks in a row.
'I do not want a new court hearing. We all know that it isnt going to work.', he whispers.
Two police men stood behind him and waited that he would finally stand up so they could put on the handcuffs. Now it was the lawyers turn to shake his head. 'Nothing is lost Finn, there is still hope. Let me talk with the judge, i'll figure things out for you.'
He didnt get it. He didnt get that Finn didnt want to. He didnt want to fight anymore because he obviously lost. He was going to pay the bill for a meal that he didnt order.
'Leave it Andrew. Finn made his own choice.', a woman's voice said behind the two. It was Carol, Finns mother, and you could tell by her voice how disappointed she was by her son.
And of course Finn could understand because he would have been disappointed as well. Who wouldnt? But would she still be if she'd knew the truth?
He tried a lot to tell her what really happened, that he was innocent, but no one would listen to him. All she and his friends would do was to look away, telling him to stop lying.
Fact was, he did not lie.
'Mr Hudson, we need to go.', one of the police men said, holding the handcuffs ready.
Finn stood up, keeping his head down. If he would now look into his mothers eyes, he didnt know if he was going to survive this goodbye.
Andrew shook his head and stood up as well and layed his hand on Carols shoulder, just like he did it with Finn.
'I am deeply sorry Carol. I wish i could have done more.', you could tell by the sound of his voice that he wasnt sorry, but it seemed to be something you just have to say as a lawyer after a lost court hearing.
'Its not your fault Andrew. Finn should have known what he was doing. I just wish he'd tell the truth.'
She walked past Finn but stopped infront of him, while he still had his head down.
'What happened with my little boy?', she whispered, and it looked like she wanted to say more but her voice cracked.
Finn looked up, but the only thing he saw was his mother walking out of the room, the last memory he got of her was the disappointment in her voice. He wasnt even brave enough to say goodbye.
Finn faced a boy in the door, his hair dark brown, a little messy like always. His eyes would fit the color of his hair and he'd have the smirk on his face which he always had when Finn disappointed someone or did a mistake.
People said they look alike, which was logic since they were twins but Finns brother would always be the better son of them.
So he was standing there, facing Finn, and his smirk said it all.
You messed it up again was its message and Finn would have loved to punch his brother in his face so he'd never be able to smile that disgusting smile again.
The police men pushed Finn forward right to the door where his brother was standing.
As they stood face to face, the smile of his brother got bigger and bigger.
'I'll see you Finn.', he said.
'I'll see you Mike.', Finn answers.
