Chapter 7: Before Detention

Josh drove to Tyler's house, and walked to his front door.
JOSH POV:
I'm very nervous. What if his parents answer the door? Do they know about us? Do they even know of me???
Tyler's mom answers the door.
"You must be Josh! Please, come in!" She said with a smile.
"Hello. And thank you." I say. I take in the familiar scene of the house.
"Tyler's room is this way."
"Oh um I already know where it is... I mean.. Uh this place looks familiar." I say, trying not to say that I've been her before.
"That's odd. Well Tyler's just in there."
"Thanks. You have a very nice home. Did you decorate this yourself?" I say, trying to be polite.
"Why yes I did. Thank you!" she says excitedly. She turns and walks away.
I open the door to Tyler's room.
"Hey."
"Oh um... Hey Josh!" Tyler says, holding something behind his back.
"Hey um, what's that?" I ask.
Tyler hands the item to me. It was a card.
"For you.." Tyler says blushing.
I look at the front. The card is in the shape of a heart. The front says 'JOSH' in big bold letters. I open it. The inside reads:
Josh,
I love you, and I'm so glad I met you. You mean the world to me. Thanks for caring <3

"Aww thanks!" I reply.
"Wait, there's something else." He says smiling.
Tyler grabs something out of his closet. It's a new snapback.
"I got this for you. Do you like it??"
"Like it?? I love it!" I say.
TYLER POV:
Josh immediately puts on the new snapback. He lets me wear his other one. Before I put it on, I take in the smell. It smells just like Josh. I hug it, and put it on.
"Ready to go??" He asks.
"Yeah!" I reply.
"See ya mom! Bye dad!" I say to my parents.
"Bye Mr. and Mrs. Joseph!" Josh says with a smile.
"You boys be careful." my mom calls after us.
"We will mom." I say back.
Josh and I both walk out of the house, and start to walk toward the school. It takes about 15 minutes.
"Hey, mind if I hold your hand?" Josh asks.
"What will the neighbors think?" I ask.
"They will probably think, 'Hey look at that gay couple'."
I laugh taking his hand.
"You have an amazing laugh." Josh says smiling.
"Haha, thanks. You're so nice, Josh" I say blushing.
It's getting dark out, and cold. I shiver. Josh takes off his sweatshirt, and gives it to me.
"Won't you get cold?" I ask.
"I'll be fine. You're my top priority, Tyler."
I hug him so tightly he almost falls over.
"Well here's the school." Josh says.
We both walk inside, and prepare for the amount of work the teachers will give us.
