I made my way down to dinner with Ron, still fairly red in the face. I just prayed that Fred and George wouldn't notice, but, unfortunately, my prayers were not answered. Right when I sat down, Fred, or was it George? I dunno. One if them have me a knowing look and winked at me, making me turn even redder. I groaned, though, I tried not to be too loud about it. I attempted to put a smile on my face, but it turned out to be a grimace.

"Good good, everyone's here now. Dig in!" Mrs. Weasley exclaimed enthusiastically as we piled heaps of food into our mouths. "So! Hermione, Skylar, had a good school yeah I presume?"

We nodded our heads and Mr. Weasley interrupted to ask about our OWLs.

"Divination was awful, dad!" Ron complain and I agreed.

"Waste of time if you ask me" I said glumly. "There's no way I passed. Everything was alright, I suppose."

Hermione just snorted.

"The both of you should have dropped the class like me. Ancient Runes, that's a fascinating subject!" Hermione said, rolling her eyes.

The rest of dinner passed uneventfully and Ron, Hermione, and myself trudged upstairs to Ron's room, falling asleep shortly after.

Mrs. Weasley anxiously shook the three I us awake the next morning. "The results! Your OWLs! They've just arrived! Get up!"

I groggily say up to see Ron and Hermione perched at the foot of my bed, already opening their envelopes. I reluctantly took mine from Mrs. Weasley's hands and began opening it. I gasped at what I saw.

Astronomy - E

Care of Magical Creatures - O

Charms - O

Defense Against the Dark Arts - O

Divination - D

Herbology - O

History of Magic - E

Potions - O

Transfiguration - O

"Oh my Godric" I muttered. I thought I did well, but not THAT well.

"We'll come on dearie, let me see" Mes. Weasley said and I handed my letter over to her. She looked at it for a moment before engulfing me in a massive hug. "Oh, Skylar! This is wonderful! Right OWLs! Eight! How wonderful! I'll contact your mother and let her know. Ronald, congratulations, yes he's - seven OWLs. Oh dear, Hermione! You are all so bright!" Mrs. Weasley broke down in sobs and exited the room.

"That was bloody weird..." I mumbled.

"It's mum, what did you expect?" Ron grumbled, pulling me into an awkward sideways hug.

I laughed and excused myself from the room. I made my way down to the Weasley's kitchen, grabbed some parchment and a quill, and started writing my letter.

Draco,

Hey! I miss you so much already! We - Ron, Hermione, and I - got our OWL results this morning! Have you gotten yours yet? I passed everything except for Divination. Figures, that class was a waste of time anyway. These are my results:

Astronomy - E

Care of Magical Creatures - O

Charms - O

Defense Against the Dark Arts - O

Divination - D

Herbology - O

History of Magic - E

Potions - O

Transfiguration - O

I can't believe it! An 'O' in Potions! Thank you thank you thank you for tutoring me! If you wouldn't have, there's no way I could have passed.

I really hope I can see you this summer! I'm sorry I thought you were a massive git. Turns out, you're only a git to a select few.

Oh, and Happy Birthday, by the way. (Just in case I forget to send an owl in three days). Thanks again, Draco!

Love you-

Skylar x

I called for Mouse, who instantly came flying through the kitchen window.

"Take this letter to Draco Malfoy at the Malfoy Manor, alright? Be safe!" I told her and she took off. I watched out the window until I couldn't see her any longer.

Summer flew by scarily fast. It took Draco until August 24th, exactly one week until we left for Hogwarts, to reply to my letter. It was around 2:30am when I heard a quiet tapping noise coming from Percy's bedroom window. (Hermione and I were staying in his room while he shared with Ron.) I peeked my head above the covers to see what it was and sighed in relief when it was only Mouse. Ever since Voldemort had returned at the end of the school year, I had been even more on edge than usual.

I climbed out if my bed and tiptoed across the floor, careful not to wake Hermione. Once I reached the window, I opened it slowly, making sure it wouldn't creak, and Mouse gratefully flew in an started hooting loudly.

"Hoot! Hoot!"

"No!"

"Hoot!"

"Mouse!"

"Hoot! Hoot! Hoot!"

"You'll wake Hermione!" I scolded. It took awhile, but she eventually quieted down.

I untied the letter from Mouse's leg and gave her a treat. I ripped open Draco's letter gleefully and ignored my strong urge to go back to sleep.

Skylar,

Sorry it's taken me forever to reply - I've been... Busy. Congratulations on your OWLs - I'm so proud of you. I know I probably sound like a fatherly figure right now but ignore it.

Anyway, I really don't have much time to write. I'm being watched almost constantly. I slipped away for a few minutes to write you. Find me on the train and I'll explain as much as I can.

I miss you.

-Draco.

I sighed and put his letter on my pillow. I missed talking to Draco; he promised he'd write me every week. I scribbled back a quick 'Thank you, I miss you, too' and sent Mouse off again.

I moved Draco's letter to the nightstand, crawled into bed and felt my eyelids getting heavy.

A bit more sleep would do me wonders.
