Chapter 6

After Devan and Ben had left me and Tyler went back up to my room.

"Thanks for going to Darius." I said after a long silence. "I should be thanking you." He said back not looking up from his hands. "Me? I was the one that left you for days even though you were sick." "If you hadn't been pushing me I would never have gone, I  would have died, Darius found mistletoe in my body." "How did that even get there?" "For some reason mom had put it in the food." "Well thank god you went then." "Yea, did he get mad at you today?" "Just a little." "He likes you you know." "I doubt that!" "You know he doesn't allow humans in his Mansion, not even bitten ones." "Well it wasn't like he had a choice, I wouldn't have left without him taking a look at Devan." "Do you like him or something?" "What, no! Why?" "I know you go by this protection code and shit but you are like extremely protective over him!" "It's my fault they were there in the first place." "What do you mean?" "I was in the Woods and came across them, they were looking for the head of that girl and I had to make something up for being there so I told them I was there for the Same reason, and instead of sending them away I let them go back to the place where she was killed." "Wait hold up! They wanted to find a human head?!" "It was Ben's idea." "That kid seems like a nutjob!" "That's exactly what Darius said." "Huh funny."

Right before Tyler was about to leave he turned around and put his mouth next to my ear. "I would never leave you, wether I have a pack or not. I will not leave you Alex." He whispered before quickly climbing out of my window and going away. I closed my window right after that slightly smiling from what he said.

The next day I came into school Ben and Devan were already waiting for me at my locker. "Hey guys!" I said smiling. "Hey Alex!" Ben said smiling back. But as soon as I opened my locker I started screaming, my locker was covered in blood and the head of a rabbit was hanging in the middle of it. "THE FACK!" I yelled immidiately slamming it closed. "Are you out of your mind!" I said sounding extremely angry as I turned my head to Devan. "This is not my fault! I can't Control it! I get angry, turn and go if the Woods to kill anything and everything! This is the fourth one!" "Still there's no reason for you to make a suicide Joke out of it!" "That was Ben's idea!" "BEN!" I yelled turning to a smiling Ben. "Outside, both of you!" I said pointing to the door.

"You my friend, you should be happy he hasn't killed you or any human yet!" I said pointing to Ben. "And you should also be thanking god that you only killed four rabbits so far!" I said turning my head to Devan. "I want to be able to Control this!" He hissed completely ignoring me. "You have to be by Tyler for that." "Yea he doesn't really like me." Ben said scratching his back. "Good, because you're not the werewolf here." "How do I even find him?" "Go to the Woods and say his name, he'll hear you." "Oh really that's funny because i've been hearing every little bleep and blop for these past days!" Devan said sounding way to sarcastic. "Like I said he'll help you with that, in the beginning things will be hard for the both of you, you'll have to start keeping a lot more secrets from everybody and me and Tyler will need both of you guys's help so you'll be very busy. But you'll get used to it. Okay?" "Okay!" "Oh and try to keep these cruel jokes to yourself please." I said laying my hand on Ben's shoulder.

"He did what?!" Tyler said smiling. "He hung a dead rabbit in my locker." I said annoyed at the fact that he was so amused by this. Me, Tyler, Devan and Ben were standing in an old abonded toy factory. I had decided to take Devan and Ben to Tyler for his first training myself. "Okay now just...go to work." I said taking Ben to the side.

As Tyler and Devan were all to busy with whatever they were doing Ben turned to me. "We are taking this way to well aren't we?" He said sounding serious for the first time. "What do you mean?" "Well our whole life is changed and all we do is Joke about it." "What else would you do? It's your way of dealing with it." I said not taking my eyes of Tyler and Devan. "Yea but you and Tyler have to concentrated on saving humans everyday, I can't even imagine how hard that must be." "It'll hit you eventually." "What?" "Everything, it will all blow up in your face like a big bomb, everything will become a mess." "What does it feel like?" "What does what feel like?" "Having no Control over things, what does it feel like?" "It's terrifying, you'll become scared of every second of every day, you won't ever feel safe no matter where you are or what you're doing, you'll constantly be prepared to fight for your life. It'll change you." "You'll become emotionless." Ben quietly whispered. "That's if you give up, if you give up on life you give up on feeling things. When you're at your lowest it'll sound very appealing, you will no longer have any fear, you won't feel sad anymore you'll feel nothing." "That does sound quite good." "Ben?" "Yes." "Can you promes me one thing?" I said finally turning my head to him. "Sure." He said turning his head to me too. "Never give up, please." "I won't, and neither will Tyler. We've never taken the easy way out." "Good because being emotionless also means you'll never love, or be happy ever again."
