"THEY'RE HERE!" Devan yelled as he and Tyler burst into the big institute. Suddenly the Hallway was filled with everybody including Sandra and Ferrel. "DEMONS, THEY'RE HERE!" Tyler added breathing like crazy. "What happened?" Arises asked as she calmly Walked over to them. "We were in the Woods and....." "A hippogriff came running past us." Devan said finishing Tyler's sentence. "What happened next?" "We just Walked on, then a Bunch of flying horses galloped past us!" "Flying horses galloped on the ground?" Daisy asked confused. "They had wings, but they weren't like you they were white." Devan breathed. "We got worried." Tyler continued. "And then?" I asked impatient. "The young centaur, he grabbed me pulling me on his back, another one grabbed Devan. They ran to the edge of the Woods with us on them." "Had they seen the demons?" Arises asked still calm. "I think so, they dropped us of at the edge. One of them yelled something." "He yelled that we had to be quick, and something about demons and that it wouldn't take much more then 24 hours!" Arises nodded and turned back to all of us. "Jacob, Quincy. Put the institute on lock down! Daisy, get your swords and practise some more. Same counts for you Ben, you'll need your dolks! Everybody else get yourselfs ready! Demons don't care if your human of werewolfs, or even werepanthers so make sure you can both work with swords, Wands, anything that a mundane can use and with your claws and fangs. Alex, you're power will be very important. There's a fight waiting for us." She said before walking away leaving us to all stand in the Hallway. "I don't know about you but i'm going to the training sentre!" Ben yelled as he Walked away. I waited for everybody else to walk away before going back to the study.
"You know you can't just read about them." Quincy said walking in. "Hm?" I mumbled looking up at him. "I suggest you try it once, before you know...,the big moment." He said pointing at the book. "You want me to tattoo a rune on my body?" I spat in suprise. "It's better to do it now, when nobody's trying to kill you, then when somebody actually is trying to kill you." "I guess." I mumbled looking back at the books. "Want me to help you?" He asked sitting down next to me. I nodded as I kept my eyes on the paper. "Let's do this one." He said as he pointed to a picture of an animal type thing with a long looking whip. "Courage in combat." I read out loud. "It's a rather hard one, but since you are a werewolf the runes of sight and strength are kinda useless." He said looking me in the eye. "Can't I just do the deflect/block one?" I asked looking at the Z shape witha strip in the middle, it looked a lot easier. "That one can only be used when Needed, it fades rather fast but it's one to remember for tomorrow, it can stop demons." He said looking at the picture I was pointing at. "Okay well, then the courage in combat will be the winner I guess." I said as I grabbed my black wand. Before doing anything I looked up at Quincy with questioning eyes. "Just think about it, think about what you want to do. It will make your wand light up." I nodded and looked back at my wand only thinking about the rune I was going to burn into my skin. Quincy was right, the tip of my wand became a faint pink-ish color. "Okay now, draw the rune on your arm, becareful it will hurt a little." He said as I slowly went down to my left arm. As the tip came closer and closer I started getting more and more nervous. "Don't pull back if it hurts, it will make the rune dissapear immidiately so it would've been for nothing." I nodded one more time before placing the tip on my skin. I immiadetly clenched jaw together from the pain as I started drawing the rune. It did indeed hurt quite bad, not as bad as I thought but it sure as hell wasn't a pleasent feeling. When I Pulled my wand back I looked at the black rune that was now on my arm. "Right now you won't feel a thing from it, whenever you have to fight it will help you Control your nerves." He explained as he gently took the wand out my hands. I just nodded staring at the rune.
"One more thing Alex, if you for some reason forget the runes just make your wand light up and go over your skin with it like Raven did. It shows the runes and it could potentialy save your life!" Quincy said right before he excited the study room leaving me and my wand on the couch. He was right about the fact that it didn't make me feel any different, it was just weird to see this black marking on my skin. I new it would with time fade but this one would take years for it to leave your skin and think that by that time I am covered with black runes.
"I see you've got a new tattoo." Arises said as she Walked in and came to sit down next to me. "Yea." I softly mumbled under my Breath. "Smart choice, courage in combat." "Quincy said I should get it." "Quincy is a smart guy." "He is." I mumbled not too interested in talking. "I have it too." Arises said as she Pulled up her sleeve revealing all kinds of runes. "Right here." She said pointing to he elbow, right on the elbow was indeed the Same rune I had on my arm. "It's uh...a lot." I said looking at her arm. "It is indeed, most of them are randomly placed, others have a specific place." "Why's that?" I asked raising my eyebrow. "Otherwise they don't work, for example my agility one is one my foot, my hearing is at the back of my ear and my sight is in the very back of my neck." "So the deflect/block one goes on your hand?" "Exactly! When you think about it they have a very logical explenation for the location, but then since courage in combat isn't linked to a body part you can just put in anywhere." "That does make sense."
