"Alex this way." Tyler whispered as he went behind one of the trees. "I don't smell anything dude." "You will in a sec." "How did you even find it." "Don't even ask." He said as he quickly ran over across the dirt road to the second part of the Woods. I followed trying to make as less sound as possible. "Here do you smell it?" He whispered as he Walked further down the Woods. "It smell's like animal flesh." "Guess why?" "Because you found an animal?" "Something like that." He said as he kept walking. We eventually ended up by a small puddle of water that didn't look to deep. "What are you doing?" I asked when he stuck his hand in the puddle. "You'll see." He said as he Pulled his arm back up. I let out a short scream when he Pulled out a head. "What the fack is that!" I blurted out of shock. "A panther, well the head of it." "What the fack!" I said looking at the head. "Dude there are no panther's in California!" "There are now." "Where did they come from, and why is there only a head, where's the body?" "At the hospital!" "The hospital? What do you mean?" "This right here is the head that belonged on the body of the girl." "Werepanthers?" I asked confused. "Jep, and I think there's a whole pack of them." "We need to go to Ben!" "Alex really?" "You said you'd give him a chance, so come on!" "Do I bring the head?" "No! Just leave it!" I said in disgust
"Yo Ben where's Devan?" I asked as he let us in his room. "He couldn't be here, some kind of family dinner." "Family dinner really?" Tyler asked annoyed. "Well we can't exactly tell our parents anything so yes, really!" Ben answered back. "Okay so...you linked the victems with each other right?" "Yea..why? Did you find something?" "What was the link?" Tyler asked before letting me answer. "Uh they all worked for this cleaning company." Ben said walking over to a picture of a big house. "Yea well we found another link." I said looking from Ben to Tyler. "What?!" "WerePanthers, we think they were all werepanthers that belong to the Same pack." "Okay so hold up, now you're saying there aren't only werewolfs but also werepanthers!" "Jep, and that's what the alpha's hunting." "Then why did he bite Devan?" "Well if we are correct he is alone and wants to make a pack." "So does Devan now belong to his pack?" "No not if he stays with us." "Okay good." "So we need you to do something for us." "Sure, how can I help." "Can you maybe find out a bit more about werepanthers and why the alpha would possibly wanna kill them." "I'll do anything to help you Alex." Ben said giving Tyler a nasty look. "Great okay can we go now." Tyler said annoyed. "Uh yea sure, bye Ben." "See you!"
Later that evening I came home to the lovely smell of chicken. "Someone cooked." I said putting away my coat. "Hey baby, finally home." "Yea sorry, was a bit busy." "Doesn't matter." Dad said as I Walked into the kitchen, dinner was already on the table so I sat down filling my plate with food. "So..any news?" Dad asked as he did the Same. "A lot!" I chuckled. I always told my dad everything since he somehow always listened and never told anyone anything. "Spill it." "Well I got two new friends, Devan and Ben. But Devan got bitten by the alpha and Tyler's now teaching him to Control and Ben, well Ben's just Ben. Oh and Tyler found the head of the girl but if I were you I wouldn't search for it 'cause it's the head of a panther. Me and Tyler think that the murders are all werepanthers and that the alpha wants them dead for some reason but Ben's looking that up right now." "That indeed is a lot." Dad said chuckling. "Yea it is." I said chuckling aswell. "But about those werepanthers, aren't they like rare or..?" "I'm not exactly sure, i've never seen one but I heard about them. Rumor has it that they are really powerfull." "And is there any reason why they would come to Oak Springs?" "The only thing I can think of is that they are looking for something." "Well I hope things don't get to messy around here." "You're not the only one."

I woke up in the middle of that night form a ticking noise. As I opened my eyes I realised something was ticking on my window. Out of caution I Pulled out my fangs and nails as I Walked over to the window. I slowly opened my curtains but quickly jumped back out of suprise. Devan's face was right on the other side of the window. "What the fuck are you doing here?" I asked as I opened my window and made my fangs and nails dissapear again. "I think you should see this." He whispered. "See what?" "Just get over here!" I heard Tyler scream from the ground Beneath my window. I did as he said and Swiftly climbed out of my window and jumped down to the ground where Tyler and Ben were waiting, with about two meters of distance between them. "What's going on?" "I found something." Ben said raising his hand. "She's probably wondering what we found not who you Dumb shit!" Tyler hissed. Ben gave him a nasty look before turning back to me. "So I found out that werepanthers once ruled the animal kingdom untill they vanished in the early 70. That's when the werewolfs took over their power and had started to rule ever since. That was untill about 15 years ago when the first werepanthers started appearing here and there, so this alpha probably doesn't wanna lose that power and made up the Dumb plan of killing every werepanther." "Okay that makes sense, but what did you want to show me then?" "Well I was on my way to your house to tell you when I found something, so I called Devan who called big old douche bag over here." Tyler ignored this one and just kept staring in front of him. "What did you find then?" "Foot prints, or well, paw prints." Ben said as he started walking to the front of my house. We all followed him till we stopped at the other side of the road. "Here look at this, black paw prints that go all the way accross the road." "To my front door." I said finishing his sentence. "Someone's looking for you Alex." Tyler said taking a closer look at the prints. "But why?"
