The next morning I was sitting in Ben's room, he hadn't stopped talking about Hippogriff's he was so fascinated by these creatures he could go on and on about them for Hours. "Do you think I will ever see one?" He asked with his usual puppy eyes. "I'll make sure you do!" I chuckled. "You know it would be so cool! I think me and him would become best friends!" I chuckled at his enthousiasm. "I'm sorry." He said smiling. "It's fine, I would be excited too!" "Yea well whilst i'm sitting here freaking out about a flying horse/bird you are on someone's death list." "That doesn't mean I will die!" "You better not!" "No I have made I deal with myself that I will have at least one boyfriend before I die!" I said chuckling. Ben didn't do the Same though, he turned to serious in a split second. "Something wrong?" I asked concerned. "Nah just....what you just said." "Have you never had a girlfriend? Because that's nothing to be ashamed about! I've never had a boyfriend either!" "No that's not it." "Do you like someone now?" Ben looked troubled as I said that. "You know you can tell me." I said looking serious. "I know, and yes I do, I think I like someone but it's a bit more complicated." "Does she not talk to you or?" "No we talk, it's just that this supernatural thing probably won't work." "But Ben you aren't supernatural." "But you, Devan and Tyler are!" "So....?" "Look Alex, it's just, it's not that I don't want to tell you. Just not now." "Whatever you want Ben, just know I will be here to help you."
"Dad?" I asked as I Walked in. "Oh hun you're home." He said sounding rather suprised. "Yea?" I said in a questioning tone. "There, there's somebody here for you." He said as he turned the corner but as soon as I looked behind him and saw Darius I turned around and Walked back out of the house. "Alex wait." I heard him say before I slammed the door shut. Not much later I heard the door open and close again but I just kept walking. "I don't feel like talking Darius." I said as I knew he was following me. "Just let me explain!" "There's no explenation!" "There is!" "There is not!" "Alex!" "No! All i've been trying to do is tell you why I don't want things like that but you don't listen!" "I do I just.." "Don't care?!" I spat turning around. "I do care!" "Then listen!" "Okay! I'll listen if you let me explain!" "First you listen to me!" "Okay!" He said throwing his hands up in the air. "I've seen some horrible things, you know that, i've kept myself strong, you know that too! But there are things you don't know Darius!" I said as I waited for him to join me by my side before I started walking again, this time with him next to me. "Seeing the damage one alpha can do frightened me, strangers frighten me. I don't want to invite people into MY group not knowing who they are and what they will do. I do not want or need a boss! My pack doesn't need it." "Your pack?" He asked raising his eyebrow. "Yes, we're a pack Darius! With or without alpha! It doesn't matter." "Okay, I get that, but do you understand that I wanted to get you help?" "No!" "Can I at least explain?" "You can try!" "I was worried about you, I was worried you'd get killed and knowing I didn't do anything to prevent it just didn't feel right." "Then at least talk to me about it before you around and arrange stuff I do not know about." "I should of have indeed done that, i'm sorry." I looked at him closely seeing hid did genuily feel sorry but I just didn't feel like forgiving him just yet. "I accept your apology, but that doesn't mean I forgive you." I eventually said. "And I understand that." "Good."
Late that evening I was walking through town with my hood covering my face, it was quite calming to have a walk in the cold evening air. It felt like I could finally for once Breath, I don't really know why but I have been feeling half alive half dead for the past days and this really did do me good. "Alex." A male voice whispered in my ear but when I turned around there was no one there. "Alex, to your right." It whispered again. I slowly took my hood of looked to my right where the edge of the Woods were. I could see a vague figure standing there, but that was about it. "Come!" It said before it turned around and Walked back in the Woods. After looking to my left and right again to see if nobody was really there I followed the voice.
As I passed a few trees I could see the figure in front of me. And as it Walked closer I realised it was a centaur, half horse half human. "Hello?" I said in a questioning voice. It didn't say anything back, it just came closer and closer. When it was finally only a metre away from he opened his mouth. "I shouldn't be here but neither should you." "Then why are you here?" I asked him before he could go on with what he was about to say. "We all know about you Alex, the whole down world and supernatural world, all i'm doing is warn you for the danger that is coming your way. I'm not supposed to talk to you because if anyone finds out it will cost me my life but I Needed to say this. Things aren't looking pretty for you my dear friend." And with that said it ran of into the thick fog that surrounded the Woods as night fell.
