Katniss POV
I wake up and look at the clock. It reads 8:00am. I jump up quickly realizing how late I am for work. I quickly take a shower, brush my teeth, and throw on a blue dress. I take a deep breath as I tell myself to relax. My boss isn't really mean. But, I know when people are late it makes her a little mad. I do my makeup and slip on some heels as I walk to the kitchen to pour a cup of coffee. Then, I grab my purse and car keys as I leave the house.
Quickly, I hop in my car and start driving to my job that I'm still surprised that I have. For two and a half years I have been working at a fashion designing job that I actually really enjoy.
While driving to work I completely forgot about the bake sale we were having at the job. I must have forgot while rushing out of the house. I know of a bakery around here so I make a quick u turn to the bakery. While pulling up, I see the name is called " The Mellark's Bakery."
When I see the line at the bakery, I get frustrated. The line almost stretched out of door. This must be a popular bakery. I get on the back of the line knowing that this was the only bakery I would pass. While standing in line I remember something. I saw this bakery on the news a couple of weeks before. It showed peoples opinions on the place and how popular it was.
Luckily, the line moved pretty fast and I was next. The whole time this guy behind the counter kept staring at me. I knew he worked there because he had flour all over his hands and he wore an apron that said the name of the bakery. It was so awkward. I look back at him for a second and then I hear...
" I can take whoever is next" I hear this tall guy with brown hair say behind the counter. As im walking up to the counter at the corner of my eye, I see that same guy that was staring at me walking up to my cashier. I read his lips when he says...
" I'll take this one."
