Chapter 33; Kid Practice

Katniss POV

Today is bring your kid to work day and there are so many kids around. I can't wait to bring my baby here one day.

  " Hey Katniss," Nalla greets me as she comes into my office with her son.

  " Morning Nalla," I say back and I see her three year old son. " Hi Christopher," I say kindly to him.

" Hi!," he says back. He is a happy little boy. He acts and looks just like Nalla.

" Do you remember her, Chris? That's Miss Katniss," she says to him trying to get him to remember. He just nods his head. Nalla sits down in a chair and Christopher sits next to her.

  " Ugh! My boss is bugging me with so much work!," she says and I laugh. Nalla and I have different bosses since she does something different than I do for the company. She does the actual designing of clothes and I make sure that it gets sent or shown to the people that make them

  " What do you mean?," I ask her giggling at her son moving around in the chair.

  " I mean she gives me so much work and keeps coming into my office asking if I am done. It's getting annoying. I wish I had Eliza as my boss like you," she say slouching in the chair in my office.

  I give her an awkward smile. "Oh, she cant be that bad. She is just checking up on you," I tell her trying to cheer her up. " Eliza does it to me."

   " Yea, I guess so," she says in a frustrated tone and trying to get Chris to sit still.

" Do you want something to draw with, Chris?," I ask him and he nods happily. He is a good kid. I hand him paper and a few markers that I found in my drawer.

" What do you say?," Nalla asks him and he looks at me.

" Thank you!," he says and I laugh.

" You're welcome," I tell him and Nalla smiles. Nalla seems to be a different, more mature person when her son is around.

" Oh! Guess what I found out on Saturday!," I say and she looks up.

  " What?," she asks as a reply.

  " I found out the gender of the baby!," I say and she instantly sits up straight.

  " What?! Really! Katniss, what is it?!," she asks impatiently and I laugh.

  " We found out that... Its a...," I say it slow to annoy Nalla.

  " Oh, just say it already!!," she hurries me and I chuckle.

  " Its a girl!!," I say happily and Nalla gets happy for me.

  " Really?! Congratulations!," she says excitedly.

" Thank you! I'm so excited!!,"I exclaim. " I can't wait to dress her up."

" Aww. That's great!," Nalla says. " Is Peeta excited?"

" I think so. I know he wanted a boy but he seems happy," I tell her and she nods.

  Another worker comes in and sees Nalla. I realize that it is her boss.

  " Nalla! There you are! I have been looking all over for you," she says loudly.

  " Yep, here I am," she says annoyed.

  " Can you come with me. There was something I needed to show you. It's really important!," she says and Nalla nods.
